Look, I... I may not be an explorer, or an adventurer, or a treasure-seeker, or a gunfighter, Mr. O'Connell, but I am proud of what I am.

And what is that?

I... am a librarian.

Has anybody tried putting cool little prizes inside boxes of *healthy* food? Like I’m not saying I definitely for sure would eat quinoa five days in a row just to get a free decoder ring…but I’m not saying I definitely for sure wouldn’t either.

A romance novel I read once had car sex and the author kept SPECIFICALLY mentioning that it was in a Jeep Wagoneer. Literally thought I was reading a Jeep ad, and as per usual the car sex was pretty unbelievable. I mean I'm not expert but no one can move around that much in a car.

How am I a rebel? Well, I eat PEZ candy straight out of the wrapper. That plastic dispenser just slows me down.

As much as people like to clown on Stardew Valley’s romance system, I know for a fact that if a guy gave me my favorite food item, everyday for a year, I’d be considering marriage too

This is the mood today after checking my Libby account. Whyyyyy do all my holds have to show up at the same time? And why is it always when I have things to do that aren't reading?

The problem with audiobooks is that, when the inevitable spicy scene shows up, you're just trying to do a spreadsheet while a narrator gently whispers in your ear about dicks.

I'm going to finally have to get into CritRole, aren't I?
I would read descriptions of paint drying if they were written by Thea.
Two worlds collide and hearts catch fire. The adventure begins…

So, the Critical Role universe’s most infamous saucy romance novel is now an *actual* novel, out next year and written by… ME!!! ❤️‍🔥

Ty to Del Rey and CritRole for trusting me with Oskar and Guinevere’s story 🥹🫶🏼

I want to see everyone's neighborhood cats! This is the big fluffy cat who walks around the outside of the library I work at. I wish his people would keep him indoors, but I do appreciate his visits by my window.

A repeat thought, Bluesky, & a Librarian told you this so it must be true 🤣

Audiobooks definitely count as reading (as well as listening). If you've played through an audioook, its perfectly fine to describe that as "I have read [x]"

All other forms of assistive software count as reading too 💙📚

👍

Sorry but all the fables and fairy tales I read as a kid led me to believe people would be learning WAY more lessons than they actually do

If your local library has data demonstrating use (library card sign ups, book checkouts, use of online services, computer usage numbers, reference question stats) it's much harder for bad actors to shut them down. Attend events, borrow books, interact on social media, use resources, it all helps!

Fellow librarians and book loving stats junkies: please try out Storygraph! They're an independent company and their reading stats are just REALLY good and fun to look at.
A free account gives you crazy access to your reading stats and makes it so much easier to see what you've read! #storygraph

I love coming to a new social media platform and finding that my reputation has preceded me XD
