Referring to this week as "Black Friday Week" is incredibly bleak.

This article heavily implies that ICE is being used in a custody dispute to help Karoline Leavitt's brother get his son and have the mother locked up in ICE detention
"A woman with a family connection to White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt has been arrested by Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents in Revere, Massachusetts."

There’s a reason It’s a wonderful life still has wide appeal.
You see, this is a subtle reference to how we’re living in a capitalistic hellscape where people can’t afford basic things.

That a quote from 1946 still hits so deep to this day because people still can’t make enough to save 5000$.

I once asked a bookseller at a large indie store how many people would have to buy a book for it to get the attention of the store buyer and cause an additional order and they said: Three.
I see some book piracy discourse, and, to make a positive argument in favor of buying books, your marginal ability to influence what books get published and support the careers of writers you like is massive compared to most other forms of media.

For her serious ethical lapses, Nuzzi was rewarded with an editor role at Vanity Fair.
Olivia Nuzzi wrote an entire story based on unnamed sources about Biden's decline, reinvigorating calls for him to leave the race -- and the whole time, she was working on RFK Jr.'s behalf, according to her ex-fiance. newrepublic.com/article/2035...
Olivia Nuzzi’s Real Victims
More than her fiancé, or fellow female journalists, the public will pay the price for these misdeeds. RFK Jr. will see to that.

It's fashionable now to trot out Nixon being ahead of his time on Russia, China, etc - for good & ill I helped start it - but nobody talks about the last chapter of In the Arena, which is pretty much a no-holds-barred attack on elderly politicians who won't get off the stage & go demented in public.

Today is the real birthday of TWILIGHT ZONE: OTD in 1958 CBS aired "The Time Element" on DESILU PLAYHOUSE. Rod Serling's script had William Bendix transported 17 years & warning of Pearl Harbor. Ratings/mail convinced CBS a weekly series of the weird had great promise: TZ debuted one year later.

With this article NYT now has done about 1,000 articles on Biden’s age and 1 article on Trump’s age.

We have created a device that shall be integral to your life, to the point where it will be hard to function in society without one; we would prefer these devices to break annually and for you to purchase a new one at full price. If you don't, that's called hoarding. They're a thousand dollars each.
stupid young people, stop buying a new phone every year if you don't want to be broke. wait no, not like that.

There is NO FUCKING EXCUSE for this to be happening.

I had a baby die in my arms of pertussis some fifty years ago. It was a HORRIBLE death. But my fellow nurses said to me, "It's almost stamped out now, they're all getting the shots, we won't be seeing this again."

HOW THE FUCK ARE WE HERE. 😡
A third infant has died in Kentucky, KYDPH adds:

“These are Kentucky’s first pertussis deaths since 2018. None of the infants nor their mothers received the recommended pertussis vaccinations during pregnancy or early infancy.”

People need to understand how deeply eugenicist this is.

They’re insinuating that if you “take care of yourself” you will be healthy and should get affordable healthcare.

Disabled people can’t “healthy living” their way out of being disabled.

It’s not a moral failing.

We need healthcare too
Markwayne Mullin on healthcare: "What the president would like to do is say, hey, if you take care of yourself -- you don't smoke, you don't dip, you're not drinking, you're not overweight, you're working out -- then you should pay less than the guy that obviously is not taking care of himself."
