In other self-promotion news, over the summer I... acted in a radio play!?

I was so thrilled to be a part of this lavishly written audio drama; auteur Alicia Goranson has outdone herself with this one. The writing, the special effects...

Anyway, I play the leader of the Anarchs, sample here:

Anarch Lorea ( @quinnae.com ) explains the tragic story of how she became a Kindred.

*Vampire: The Masquerade: Blood Doll* - a new spectacularly sexy and blasphemous audio drama, coming October 6th, 2025. From the Not Ready for Opsec Players.

Hi, folks. Briefly back from taking my own advice and Logging Off. I spoke to the "How to be a Better Human" podcast about my book, and why posting and politics are seldom a good mix.

It was a great, wide-ranging conversation.

Thank you (in advance) for coming to my TED Talk!

"No one should be in any denial about how perilous this moment is. It’s another degree’s tilt towards the abyss. But we are not idle on that knife’s edge; we remain engaged in the fight for democracy and the values that underpin it—free expression highest among them."
The Left is the Free Speech Party Now
As MAGA flexes the power of the state to attack dissent, protest, and now mere comedy, it's time for the left to embrace the mantle of free speech.

You guys overestimate followers and awards. My Patreon makes €140 bucks a month (I had it for 5 years) and my print store makes like €500 a year. That’s not enough to live.

Of course there WILL be people who pull it off. There always is. This is the same argument. It’s the 0.00001% who do.

I should be asleep, but can’t stop thinking about a striking sanitation worker I met today. He told me about the time a trash bag full of human shit burst in his face, and he had to spend two days in the hospital to ensure he hadn’t contracted any dangerous diseases.

He makes $19 an hour.

seeing people hit by the layoffs today who have worked in the industry for DECADES. one guy had worked on fucking STAR WARS GAMES FOR THE SNES, another had been at blizzard since starcraft.

that kind of continual experience in the industry is like gold dust, and MS are just throwing it in the bin

Counterpoint as someone who wrote a book about Twitter’s influence & studied the minutia of how that influence worked—it is no longer influential! The myth that it is could be easily released if folks still attached to an *idea of what it once was* make a serious calculation about what it is now.
ianlivingston.bsky.social
X is influential enough it’s hard for many to leave.. fine.

The trade off is the fact that it’s normalizing fascism and various other horrible things.

Rationalize or say that’s overblown but to me there are red lines. I know too much history and have too many connections to ignore it.

Extremely dark that the entire U.S. government is lying down to be steamrolled by something called the Trump agenda for fear of some force called "Donald Trump" while the actual Donald Trump has no idea what's happening
newsjennifer.bsky.social
Helluva @notusreports.bsky.social scoop showing that Trump has no idea what's in his budget bill. Seems like something that ought to get a lot more attention.

Also this: a republican house member actually admits that they are attacking medicaid. Yes, they are.

It has a very real chance of failing—and *even if it passes with changes* it still has to go BACK to the Senate to get voted on AGAIN. And it barely made it through the first time

This thing is way more killable than you’d think and the longer we can drag out the process the more killable it gets
swingingstorm.bsky.social
If you just look at social media instead of news sources, you might believe the “big beautiful bill” has passed already.

It hasn’t. It still needs to go through the House, where it has a strong chance of failing — so yes, feel as sad and angry and scared as you need, but PLEASE CALL YOUR REPS.

I find the flipping between ‘I a Hardcore Radical, am willing to Do What It Takes, unlike you feckless weaklings’ and this pearl clutching ‘people will be Hurt, How Dare You Say That?!’ shit so contemptible.

I guess the socialist approach is to NOT campaign against the GOP for throwing 17 million people off of Medicaid?

Hard to interpret this any other way than “GHF was basically functioning as a honey pot that attracted civilians into range to be more readily shot at.”

Which, needless to say, is NOT how legitimate aid organizations (who are massively condemning this) work.
paleofuture.bsky.social
Real aid groups are calling on the U.S./Israeli-backed “aid” group GHF to be shut down. At least 500 people have been killed by Israeli troops trying to get aid near the sites.
Israeli, US-backed Gaza aid group must end, say 170 charities
The call from some of the world's top aid organisations and charities comes after reports of soldiers killing hundreds of of Palestinians at aid sites.

It's because these people want Democrats to lose at all costs and will contort themselves into whatever kind of pretzel is necessary to be anti-whatever the current Democrat thing is.
goldwagnathan.bsky.social
It is genuinely bizarre how many people have decided that Democrats campaigning on the negative effects of Republican politics is a moral indictment of Democrats.

I don’t blame media for much but the fact that they and politicians have remained there is close to dereliction of duty imo. All we needed was enough people to leave to sink it as a viable info source. The blame is heavily on the influencer set on this one.

i hope and expect to see more congressional democrats explicitly warning companies of the future consequences of illegal bribes and collusion with trump, which, despite the perpetual whiner complaints, is legitimately a new step in the right direction for democrats

Paramount just paid Trump a bribe for merger approval. When Democrats retake power, I’ll be first in line calling for federal charges. In the meantime, state prosecutors should make the corporate execs who sold out our democracy answer in court, today.

I mean I give Schumer a ton of shit but he kept his whole team including Fetterman onside, he peeled off 3 others, his side worked the system a ton to get a whole lot of garbage taken out of this disaster bill, yes the name change flex is dumb but guy actually put in proper work this time

Simply beyond parody. It would be laughable if Democratic leadership wasn’t catastrophically inept at everything other than helping to blow up starving children and their parents in Gaza (or police anyone here who’s against it). Just the worst possible people at the worst possible time.

The parliamentarian had disqualified the provision, but Republicans had left it on the text — it now has been removed

Also, in case it wasn't clear because of nested reskeets, I was agreeing with Starshine here and yes-and'ing her. Taxing the rich is not a panacea but one piece of a larger puzzle, and she shows one way of squaring that particular circle.
