Just watched this and was surprisingly entertained, considering the mediocre reviews. I was expecting it to be slow and perhaps overly realistic but the movie actually embraces its anime nature and consequently doesn't take physics and human limitations all that seriously.

I find it interesting that much like the health care system the justice system is two tiered. The death of a CEO has attracted huge media attention as well as huge police resources. I don’t think all murder victims in NY are given the same attention and resources.

The fact that music incorporates in itself language (in the form of lyrics) but adds an entirely new layer of language/expression in the form of sound/melody, makes it a higher order language than any language that is merely spoken or written IMHO
sometimes I think about how weird music is. "ah yes, I enjoy listening to sounds sequenced in a specific way that triggers emotions in my brain." very normal

Thinking about how many kids I went to the now-closing Simon’s Rock with-a weird school stressing critical thinking, love of knowledge, and liberal arts - *weren’t* rich. Brilliant people with scholarships.
Feels like the end of an era where you didn’t need independent wealth to study like that.
