A long thread of #lgbtq romance novels I love across genres and pairings :)

Ok so all of these are @riptidepublishing.bsky.social books because that's where I work and so what I've widely read, and also the quality there is just *chef's kiss*

Fluff: Are You Kitten Me by Quinn Anderson. F/F contemp: Night Life by @sjhartsfield.bsky.social.
Cover art for Are You Kitten Me by Quinn Anderson. Two young men lying beneath a white blanket with pastel pawprints on it, the top halves of their faces peeking out. Between them is an orange cat, also with the top half of its face peeking out. Cover art for Night Life by SJ Hartsfield, featuring a drawing of a city skyline against a starry night. The windows in the skyscrapers are in the colors of the bisexual flag (pink, purple, blue), and one set of windows forms a heart.

If you're the praying sort, throw one up for Dolly Parton. Word is she's not doing well, and fuck, this world needs her goodness in it for a while longer.

ICE, who spends their days abusing, kidnapping, & dragging crying children from their homes in the dark of night to zip tie them, are being denied service at restaurants in Chicago..........monsters should always be denied service.

INBOX: The Chicago News Guild joined others in suing ICE for attacking journalists at the Broadview facility.

Actually, it really matters whether your electeds are progressive. We are often frustrated on the left at what electeds can deliver, but we have to remember moments like this. Paul Vallas would NOT have created ICE free zones.

HAPPENING NOW — This morning, Mayor Brandon Johnson signed an executive order establishing “ICE-free zones.”

“That means that city property and unwilling private businesses will no longer serve as grounds for these raids,” Johnson said to applause.

MORE: You can find live video of press coverage of this situation, in which media confirms that rubber bullets are being fired at peaceful protesters who are not trespassing. It's merely unfettered fascist violence being unloaded on Americans for the crime of exercising their First Amendment rights.

MORE: Minutes after this happened, video emerged of ICE officers on the roof of a facility in Portland firing rubber bullets at protesters outside the facility—not on facility grounds—who were merely standing and looking at the building.

No violence, no crimes, no disruptions. They were fired upon.

BREAKING: Stephen Miller—both Trump Administration capo and de facto head of DHS, ICE, and DOJ, has just declared that peaceful protesters are "street terrorists." Under an executive order signed by Trump just days ago, that means he is saying that all protesters in America can be arrested on sight.

I know it's vanishingly unlikely this cop will face any consequences for this egregiously unnecessary use of force, but I think it's important that we keep pointing out how ILLEGAL this all is anyway. It's happening so often people might just... assume otherwise. Don't let them normalize this.

Either the police are mighty and fearless warriors, or they’re scared enough of a sassy 20-something woman to unload a canister of pepper spray in her face from 2 feet away, but they cannot be both.

Police violence is rooted in cowardice. Every time. This was not the action of a man who is brave, honorable or good. And unfortunately, this kind of low-quality character is more common than not. Why must we pay for cowards to harm our citizens?

Miller, basically: "How dare you evil, America-hating communist antifa insurrectionist domestic terrorists call us bad names. And if you scumbag cockroach enemies of the state DO call us bad names, any violence that occurs anywhere in the country is your fault."

CNN: Isn't that hyperbolic to call them terrorists?

STEPHEN MILLER: No. If anything I'm understating the severity of the situation

I sure am glad we have a president who will send a pilot making $80k/yr to kill a Colombian fisherman making $3k/yr in a boat worth $500 with a missile that costs $1,000,000 to keep the public from learning about all the times he sexually assaulted underage human trafficking victims.
