congratulations on a history full of lawsuits, firing casey stoney while she was out of the country, hiring jill ellis, landon donovan, and rebecca lowe's husband, losing naomi girma and jaedyn shaw, forfeiting a home game due to a poor pitch that also tore megan rapinoe's achilles, and so much more

Marta, the winner of the first Marta Award for women's goal of the year, loses out on the second annual eponymous award to Jacquie Ovalle, now a teammate of Marta. This award is off to an epic start.

(The Ovalle goal is a worthy winner TBC, although Marta had a strong shout again.)

Listen y’all I’m gonna assume we’re all adults here:

We ARE the helpers. It’s our duty to help our communities through difficult times. To be brave and help our neighbors especially when things are dark and scary. Be the help your community needs.
An important addendum to "look for the helpers" is "and then join them."

I think we will be criticizing the league way. Void a contract to avoid a potential future problem down the road and take a hit in the short term versus allow it when if things stay the same could become a bigger problem down the road and future us criticize the league for planting a landmine later
"The NWSL might think the Spirit are making a nonsensical decision, and they may be right. It’s still the Spirit’s call to make. If they can’t meet the 2028 cap by the time it rolls around, then the league can step in."

That's it. If the Spirit eat shit with an albatross of a contract, let them!
As things stand now, the NWSL isn’t fighting for Trinity Rodman. It’s fighting against her, and shadowboxing with its own potential in the process.

This is an excellent game. Fun little game. Simple and everyone can play.
My knowledge of colors is not sophisticated enough for this game.

I’ve had a few conversations about who I think the Orlando Pride should hire to fill the position vacated in the front office and the first name I thought of for consideration is Christina Unkel. It hasn’t gone over well, and I don’t think she would leave Tampa for the NWSL. She’s qualified though.

The Orlando Pride owe Haley Carter for all the work & effort she put into the organization to change the culture, reset the tone & perception of the Orlando Pride. I worry about change & what impacts it will have but Haley deserves to do whatever she wants going forward. Thank you Haley.

Another look at the incredible Marta run that led to the penalty.

To do this in the 5th minute of stoppage time after playing a full 90 is insane.

More like Haley McCLUTCHeon in the playoffs, am I right?

Really, though, after the ups and downs of this year, to have McCutcheon scoring again, at the end of THAT one-touch combination play, set to the early tempo of this game (Ovalle has been great): Good signs for the Pride. 1-0 Orlando. #NWSL

I’m mad. I’m in the DFW area and someone took the Orlando Pride magnet off my car within the last day or two. Didn’t take the Orlando City one. You know how hard those are for me to get.

The downfall of Orlando City in late 2025 is nothing short of a profound disgrace that requires a lot of reflection by club leadership. This is entirely inexcusable and embarrassing.

The current agenda no longer lists Berman as a speaker, and the keynote conversation with Hannah Storm is now with "a speaker to be announced."

Garber: "We need to be smart and thoughtful about it, and put our marker in, saying, ‘Hey, if we don’t do that, MLS might not participate.’"

MLS shouldn't be able to dictate this. Participating in your association's domestic cup should be a requirement, not a choice!
