If you're feeling cynical about the state of the world, consider this. Every day in almost every county in this country a small army of volunteers brings hundreds of seniors/homebound a hot meal through Meals on Wheels. For all the bad that's happening, there's a lot of good going unnoticed. 1/

Very interesting article from @reason.com penned by Davidson Heath.

I’ve long questioned the value of “statistical significance” because: (1) p-value itself is a completely arbitrary distinction; (2) it creates publication bias at the cost of knowledge; and (3) basically ignores risk vs benefit.
Rethinking statistical significance
From medicine to economics, significance testing misleads. Estimation offers a clearer way forward.

Or I did…

How strict can AZ cops interpret the law requiring motorists to stay right? Strict enough to let them pull someone over who is going just a hair below the speed of traffic - and then provide an excuse to ask to search the vehicle, all per AZ Supreme Court. tucson.com/news/state-r...

Here’s a hot take: I don’t want to see lawmakers posting holiday pictures from their mansions — I don’t care which party.

Keep that shit to yourself.

I think there are only like 3 law PhD programs here: Berkeley (jurisprudence and social policy), Yale, and University of Washington.

Does #lawsky know of any other law PhD programs here in the US?

I miss when Twitter was truly great like the time a guy got upset at someone calling out a cricket team and started explaining how bowling worked and at the end OP was like "thanks for explaining btw I hold the world record for most career outs in cricket history"

This doesn’t apply in all instances, but I find it hilarious that lawyers think law is so hard that you can only learn it at law school.

You think law is so hard because it was hard for you, and you’re not all that smart.

Learning law is not hard. Have you ever tried college organic chemistry?

🖕your little club. You don’t own the law—it belongs to every American.
Unless you’re the most skilled non-lawyer pro se ever (me) who is litigating three distinct landmark cases right now, including two on appeal before the Ninth Circuit.

Then IJ just plagiarizes your briefs and everyone else ignores you.

Lawyers and judges have the most fragile fucking egos.

Doesn’t “subject to the jurisdiction thereof” under the 14th Amendment really just ultimately mean an individual liable to suit under common law?

Am I missing something? It seems certain factions really want to complicate this… Maybe I’m just an idiot.

1. Basically everyone, including Trump, knows that on the video they say only that *illegal* orders can and should be disobeyed.

2. But Trump construes this as them “telling the military to disobey [his] orders.”

3. Ergo, Trump knowingly issues illegal orders to the military.
