What a wonderful Re-engage tea party this afternoon. With our guests we enjoyed wreath making, a lovely spread for tea and then some carol singing.
If you can spare one afternoon a month to volunteer at a tea party please do get involved - it is fabulous 🥰.

This is another painful but crucial report published by the Institute for Public Policy Research, www.ippr.org/articles/who.... As Richard has said in his post, how do we do better in the current circumstances?

Excited to be publishing a major piece of teacher, parent and student opinion research on the ever-challenging subject of exclusions.
Thanks to the support of @mission44, we were able to carry out what was, I think, the ever biggest exercise of its kind on this subject. 1/10

My map of children's independent bookshops is updated regularly. Most provide an online service and they're all run by people who can make well-informed book recommendations. Make sure you support your local one if you want to keep it. Any missing, please let me know. padlet.com/Jon_Biddle/r...

Anyone miss this? If so, find a min to look if you can. Listening to the podcasts by Class Divide since I saw it first and reading about the campaign they are leading to try and tackle this in Brighton and Hove. Would recommend www.classdivide.co.uk/podcast

It’s important that everyone’s views and experiences are represented in this call for evidence on curriculum & assessment in England.

Some groups, such as people of colour, have not always been well represented.

If that’s you, please do complete & share!

At TEAL have recently been looking at what schools typically offer in terms of maternity or family leave benefits. I am delighted that today we have officially launched a significantly enhanced package of support, which we will apply for all leave that commenced from 1 September 2024.

This is what my earlier thread was about. The details here matter and teachers will be closest to those details 👇
Those who live and breathe curriculum and assessment by teaching every day have a deep and unique understanding of what’s going well and what needs to improve.

If that’s you, please do share your precious insights through the call for evidence.
