current news has me thinking about the Lake House Alan Wake 2 DLC where a bunch of out-of-touch scientists can't figure out why a bad writer like Alan Wake can evoke emotion from people but their gigantic room filled with automatic typewriters only creates slop that kills you

looked up the etymology of "doujin" and it literally means "same-person", as in denoting shared interests amongst people, while "indie" is short for independence, for solitude and iconoclasm.... really makes you think (smokes bubble pipe)
You know what lets let the studios have "indie", it's time to make doujin games

a lovely snippet from our latest episode which shows the importance of developers sharing their creative process.

Without @obsidianent.bsky.social showing their work via devlogs, we may never have gotten the beautiful isometric world of Disco Elysium.

Washington's atmospheric river is actually kind of fascinating and devastating. We've been in a drought for like three or four years and, while it's literally causing a state emergency regarding flooding, the drought won't really be solved. We apparently need a ton of snow, but it's too hot for it.

Dress shoes are uncomfortable because they aren't wide enough. I really need to find a bespoke cobbler to make me some dress shoe or something.

Can't remember if it was this bad before COVID but I'm seeing an alarming spreading of what I'll call Airport Behavior to other public places. Obliviousness to other people's existence, ineptitude at navigating the environment. "Is this your first time at the grocery store" type stuff

I kind of feel bad for Kalen Debeor cause I don't think he's coaching at Bama next year but then I remember he's a multimillionaire and just don't care.

I'm not an "ism" guy these for a number of reason. Dogma's can often get conflated with ones own values, they're often used to other-ize folks. This video did have me thinking "We must seize the means of computation" though.

I'm 36 now. I need to start making grocery lists. I forgot limes and roasted canned tomoatos and have to go back to the store. My youth has faded. 20 year old me would look upon and wonder "Wait we made it 30 let alone 35?"

Poverty and homelessness is a key component to capitalism and the oligarchical class. By paying 10x to keep the poor, poor they get to continue to increase their wealth.
you gotta remember that from a conservative perspective, these programs are a failure. they don't want to reduce homelessness, they want to punish homeless people. they'd pay 10x as much for that happily
An Oregon pilot program giving cash to homeless youths sees a staggering reduction in homelessness. The program gave participants $1,000 cash payments each month for two years, and at the end of the project's first phase, 91% of participants reported being in stable housing.

Defend your community.
The vibe shift today is, I think, due to the fact that New Yorkers were on the offensive instead of the defensive.

Usually with protests, demonstrators have to defend the space, defend their right to march, etc. They get beat up and pushed around and antagonized into chaos and trauma.

Chainsaw Man is such a sincere work of art that is so unseriously serious. I love it and it is not for everyone.
Chainsaw Man is simultaneously worthy of serious discussion for its heartfelt look at society and cycles of abuse and dehumanization, and it's also like, a fantastic nonstop barrage of shitposts
