🔹 Lots of transit-oriented land use – esp in the suburbs, where ridership is soaring

1. A new poll shows that Virginia voters prefer Democratic Governor candidate Abigail Spanberger's approach to trans issues over Republican Earle-Sears by a wide margin.

She's ahead 10 points in the race now, and voters prefer her 50-37 on trans issues.

The Maryland Ave cycletrack is an excellent thoroughfare to/from Penn! I lived north and east of it so going to I just rode in the St. Paul bike lane and going home I jogged over to Guilford, through the school district parking lot and over to Barclay. Idk about E-W though.

I forget its original provenance, but “respect” meaning both “treat me like a human” and “treat me like an authority” so “disrespect me and I’ll disrespect you” means “you don’t treat me like an authority, I won’t treat you like a human.” HR trainings “disrespected” them. So the beatings commence.

There’s also an argument to be made that while the raw music was all the Beatles’, the album of Let It Be is Phil Spector’s and therefore the Beatles never had a 12th album, just 11 and one feature assist. And the Yellow Submarine soundtrack is also not considered in all of this.

Unless and until the settlements in the civil suits resulting from these assaults start coming from law enforcement pension funds, nothing will change. We the taxpayers are funding this behavior. We need to make law enforcement pay for their own bad behavior.

On the one hand the fighting within my shul’s board over taking a formal position on Palestine is ugly and exhausting and if I could quit my seat on it tomorrow I would.

Otoh the ugliness that’s come to the surface at least reflects the gravity of the situation. We’re fighting for our soul.
