"Don't follow illegal orders" would be more meaningful if Democrats had prosecuted literally any of the prominent war criminals of the last 30 years instead of, you know, fucking campaigning with them

There’s the whole “Make legislators take public transit” movement but hell yes “make legislators navigate private health insurance.” Make sure you use up your FSA money before 12/31, senator!
Pre-authorizer, on the phone with Senator-patient:

"Sir, please upload the three competitive bids for your MRI."

"I'm having a stroke and need the imaging IMMEDIATELY"

"Sir, you voted for price shopping. This is your requirement.
Please upload three competitive bids for your MRI.
Good bye."

Yes, you shouldn't have to take a Writing 101 class in college, but if you've ever been in a Freshman gen ed writing class you know full well how necessary it is for a lot of students, because American primary + secondary education systems are quite bad and our culture is deeply anti-intellectual.

I wish I could take literally any politician to Vancouver so they could see what 100 second frequencies can do. It’s radicalizing for automation and screen doors. Trains come so often you wouldn’t bother to walk faster in order to catch one.

The idea that they want only legal immigration was a lie from the start.
Routine naturalization ceremonies scheduled for this month in Putnam, Dutchess and Ulster counties to welcome new U.S. citizens were abruptly canceled last week by the federal government, surprising local officials.   buff.ly/8emFeDU

Here’s the thing: based on the rules of whiteness, while immigration is not a plot, it will ultimately result in a depletion of the numbers of people counted as white. Whiteness as a concept is exclusionary. You can’t be half white and be considered white by the people who care about whiteness.
The U.S. State Department is repeating a white nationalist conspiracy theory.

On Friday, it claimed that “mass migration poses an existential threat to Western civilization.”

That line comes straight from the Great Replacement myth: the lie that immigration is a plot to erase white populations.

I am undoubtedly at risk of having too much of my worldview based on The Hitch-Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy, but so much of the corporate world's rationale for its heedless destruction sounds to me like "It's a bypass. You've got to build bypasses."

Omg the Secretary of transportation is either gonna do the most pathetic 180 or he’s gonna be long-knived. Either way it’ll be a trainwreck to watch. (Or more accurately a cybertruck or waymo wreck)

The USPS posting a NINE BILLION DOLLAR LOSS!!! sounds terrible. Certainly worse than if you said "USPS costs thirty dollars per person per year" even though that means the same thing and more accurately describes a government service

America is a country that will test UBI hundreds of times, get the same radically positive results each time, and still look at it askance, but will also put untested robotaxis on the road because a billionaire threw a shit fit.
An Oregon pilot program giving cash to homeless youths sees a staggering reduction in homelessness. The program gave participants $1,000 cash payments each month for two years, and at the end of the project's first phase, 91% of participants reported being in stable housing.

O Come All Ye Faithful but it’s gotta be in four-part harmony. Can be a quartet a capella, a chorus either a capella or with keyboard accompaniment (pick your keyboard), but must be minimum soprano-alto-tenor-bass following the basic 4-part harmony rules.

The Drifters’ White Christmas.
What is your favorite "Christian" Christmas song and what is your favorite "Secular" Christmas song?

I will probably always adore "O Come All Ye Faithful" and "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen" for Christian.

And "Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)" for secular.

Every election is the most important but there should be “wresting back state legislature” strategies being funded NOW aimed at 2030. Redrawing district lines simply to accurately reflect the electorate will gerrymander the GOP out of relevance, you don’t even need to be political about it.
That said, I am also skeptical about setting up another Senate race in Arizona for 2030, probably best to leave that be.
