When I was about 5 or 6, in the early 90s, as far as anyone was concerned I was a boy, and I signed up for Beavers. My mum got the day wrong on the first week and we turned up at the church hall when Rainbows was on.

The leaders invited me in to join in with the activity that was going on.
🤍 We stand with every family affected by the Girlguiding policy change

What happened to this young girl is not an abstract policy debate. It's a child who was excited to be part of Rainbows with her friends, tried her sessions, loved them, was ready to join. Now she's been told she doesn't belong.

I went to the Trans Day of Remembrance vigil in Soho Square this evening, it was really lovely and moving. I ended up going on my own, but it didn’t matter, the sense of community at things like this is so strong. We’re all part of the same experience, the same fight.

Today is Trans Day of Remembrance.

Today we remember and grieve all those we have lost. But we also commit – collectively – to fighting for those of us who are left. There will be hope as long as we continue to stand together.

A Big Brother post because I intended to regularly put my thoughts about this series here and then didn’t, but it’s Final day so there’s still time.

From day one my winner was Zelah. When he was evicted my mind changed a bit but settled on Teja. Now she’s gone, it’s hard to pick one.

Not part of my song of the day thing but I want to share this, I’m absolutely obsessed and can’t stop listening to it. I can’t find any info about the artist, they have a very limited online presence, maybe they’re not even a real person. But I love this track.

My last protest against the Supreme Court ruling.

A huge turnout, and a very well organised march with chants through the high street.

THE CHAFF PROJECT

Hi! Are you cis in the UK and you'd like to support trans rights? Great!

How: buy a trans flag pin and wear it in public.

Why: chaff is an overwhelming amount of false positives so that when a missile gets close to the plane, it hits the chaff and not the plane.

Some vile shit here and releasing it late on a Friday is clearly deliberately antagonistic.
Why the fuck are they uploading it at this time in the night? The bastards.

Also the fuckers put together the evil shit in here. And I only had a short glance.

I’ve really enjoyed Celebrity Big Brother, sadly I couldn’t get to any of the live shows this year. I was backing Chesney for most of it, he seems really likeable and genuine.

I feel like Jojo will probably win and I’m here for that but I’d love to see Donna or Danny win as well.

I couldn’t make it to Parliament Square today but it absolutely warms my heart to see so many people standing against the supreme court’s nonsensical ruling, particularly cis women taking up a position alongside us and having our backs. Thank you, everyone who’s there. 🏳️‍⚧️🏳️‍⚧️🏳️‍⚧️

I think like most trans people I’ve been hit pretty hard by the 88 pages of total bollocks that spewed forth from the Supreme Court today.

Maybe it’s not as bad as it looks on the surface, I don’t know. Feels like it’s a step closer to legislating us out of public life.

But we’ll always exist.

Remember this. Hang onto it like it's a horse you're riding through hell.
They want us going backwards. Fascism is the past. The future is progressive, and while they can Canute it for a while, build their little barriers, kill a bunch of people, you can't stop the future.

Trump’s anti-trans Executive Order is bad BUT it technically defines everyone as female. It states:

“'Female' means a person belonging, at conception, to the sex that produces the large reproductive cell."

Since all fetuses "at conception" are female, Trump just defined EVERYONE as female.

It's a nazi salute.

Can we just say it.

Elon Musk did a nazi salute in front of a wildly applauding crowd.

Because he's a fucking nazi.

And so are they.

This is absolutely absurd policy. They've literally added a clause to the rules saying you can abuse LGBTQ+ people. Someone can call you mentally ill but if you call them an ignorant idiot in return only one of you has broken the rules.
Meta literally created a LGBTQ exception for calling someone mentally ill as an insult. You can't do it for any other group except LGBTQ people.

This year I'll be doing a 'song of the day' thing, to discover some new music and revisit stuff I haven't heard for a while and some favourites and classics along the way. It's dictated by a formula based around historical charts, so there's a mix of all sorts of things, lots I know, lots I don't. 🧵
