I can't stop thinking about the horde of white women demanding that Michelle Obama run for president, all while she stated over and over, that she was not a politician, and had no interest in becoming one.

It was white women declaring they own a Black women's life, and her saying, no, I own me.

By far my three favorite lyricists make up both ends of the spectrum of lyrical expression.

The late Ella Jenkins on one end of it.

Allison Russell and Adrianne Lenker on the other.

And that's not just lyrically, musically they're all staggeringly profound, and a constant inspiration to me.

Watching true crime. Cops grabbed a fork a suspect used at restaurant to match it to a crime scene. But they couldn’t match it because it had multiple people’s DNA on it because the restaurant wasn’t cleaning the dishes well. 😭😭😭

On Chicago’s NW side from 1854 to 1970 there was a “civil commitment and forced medical care” institution called Dunning Asylum, later the Chicago State Hospital.

People realized during construction in the 1990s they were building on mass graves of poor and mentally ill people.
