My dad is a retired sound engineer, so I have a few of these. One of my favourites for its sheer mundanity was answering the phone to hear "Hi, it's Gary from China Crisis, is (dad) around?" I had to explain to him that he'd been given our landline by mistake before giving him dad's work number 😅

Guess which needle-phobic person just got their flu jab 😁 It stung slightly but it was over in less than a second, and I'm proud of myself for doing it ❤️ (as usual, my motivation was thinking about every anti-vax queerphobe who would be pretty mad that an enby got the jab)

I've seen the drama online about that one booktoker who tried to insult the intelligence of romantasy readers, and it's honestly so reassuring to see the rest of the community come out and say "well that was messed up" ❤️

That's twice now that I've seen Frankenstein! The second time was even better, and the Sri Lankan curry I had afterwards was worth the wait ❤️ I swear, once this movie comes out on Netflix I'm going to rewatch it so many more times 😁

I went to visit a craft market today! If you're in New Brighton, it's at the Floral Pavilion on the top floor. Everything they sold was gorgeous! (I ended up getting a wall hanging of a Victorian print for myself, and a nice gothic mirror for Mum for Christmas)

So I love listening to @chucktingle.bsky.social 's Patreon podcast, and in one of his latest ones he spoke about "being the house that gives out the big candy bars", and so this Halloween I really took it to heart & gave out Halloween goody bags. I've never seen so many excited kids!

I thought Sinners was pretty much cemented as my movie of the year, but after seeing Del Toro's Frankenstein tonight it's got some stiff competition 😮 That was incredible!

So I've decided to once again try and get an actual book written. So far it's going surprisingly okay! (If it works out, expect it sometime next year-ish? Maybe? It's a fantasy kids' book if anyone's curious!)
