According to Keir Nazis are fine, but if you're against genocide you don't deserve free speech and freedom to protest.

Once again browsing the free section of Prime Video looking for what weird horror movies they've got for what to watch tonight. Not a bad way to find films you wouldn't have heard about otherwise, though there will also be lots of trash there, too.

Took a while, but I finally got a reply like this on my Facebook post about the implementation of Basic Income for the Arts in Ireland.

I took a look at the guy's page, and of course he is one of the anti-immigrant knuckle draggers.
Reply from someone on the subject of Universal Basic Income for artists saying "We already have its called the dole and we shouldn't encourage people to live on it either"

My reply:

"I know two artists who are on the pilot scheme, and it has been life-changing for both of them, in terms of their ability to focus on furthering their art, both personally and professionally.
I can tell you right here, as someone who had to be on the dole for years, that it is not the same thing at all. The constant threat of having your money cut off hanging over you is not at all conducive to being able to focus on your art, especially if you want to further it professionally speaking.

Of course, going by your posting history (I took a lil' peek there), I know I am at nothing trying to convince you of all this.

Enjoy living in your own self-imposed misery."

Published by Sterling in Captain Flash #1-4. She's secretly Janie Jackson, a seemingly-demure 10-year-old & daughter of a police lieutenant, who goes out and fights crime as Tomboy.

I don't like acknowledging this asshole at all, but I do believe these sort of rage bait content creators are detrimental to the medium of games, they take up so much of the space and dominate conversations with this behaviour. And they just move on to the next person they're going victimize.

I think it'll just get distorted over time like all impressions do. Though my pet peeve with the impression is that people always make it coherent, and not into random nonsense gibberish that is just his speeches.

I shouldn't have to call it what the Lemkin Institute for the Prevention of Genocide has already, repeatedly, called it. But too many people think genocide is only genocide if it's concentration camps and mass graves, instead of murdering an entire social group with a thousand cuts over decades.

Years ago, we got word that Joni Mitchell was at death's door. She's still with us. Hoping a similar scenario will play out with her fellow singing songwriting genius here. No siree, this is not the time to be losing Dolly Parton.

Dolly Parton’s sister, Freida Parton, is asking for people to pray for her sister’s health.
Verified Facebook post by Freida Parton. The caption reads:

“Last night, I was up all night praying for my sister, Dolly. Many of you know she hasn’t been feeling her best lately. I truly believe in the power of prayer, and I have been lead to ask all of the world that loves her to be prayer warriors and pray with me. She’s strong, she’s loved, and with all the prayers being lifted for her, I know in my heart she’s going to be just fine. Godspeed, my sissy Dolly. We all love you! ❤️”

Below the caption is a photo of Dolly Parton standing outdoors in front of lush green ivy, hands clasped in prayer, wearing a shiny silver outfit with lace-trimmed sleeves, her signature blonde hair styled in soft curls, looking upward serenely.

It's a shame none of the live action projects had CCH Pounder play Waller. She was just perfect for the role and has not been beaten.

I still prefer the "pay for your online purchases in cash at a convenience store" system that they have, but this is also good.

I think it's also that original films tend not to get marketing and advertising pushes of IP films. They need a LOT of word of mouth. Kpop Demon Hunters is doing phenomenally well, but it's not like they did a ton of marketing for it when it released. It was just "another Netflix film" levels.

Because it feels relevant as we continue to evaluate the media and our representatives’ statements, my favorite way to identify the active vs. passive voice.
A post by Rebecca Johnson:
“I finally learned how to teach my guys to ID the passive voice. If you can insert "by zombies" after the verb, you have passive voice.”

A tumblr respond from mightymur:
“The final, brilliant word on passive voice.
"She was killed [by zombies.]"<--passive
"Zombies killed [by zombies] her." <-- active”

Just to be clear, an English degree - learning to critically assess texts - is actually one of the most dangerous for people such as Badenoch.

An educated population, able to bring hundreds of years of context to statements in a dawning age of AI slop and attention-seeking dishonesty is also vital.

So, the plan is to cut English, the arts, and sociology - the degrees that actually study culture - while on another part of your platform claiming to “defend” British culture.

It’s performance nationalism with a reading age of seven.

feels like yet again time to mention that the *videogames* industry (that's a creative industry, which people do creative degrees in) brings in more than twice the amount to the British economy as the fishing and steel industries *combined*

I cannot understand what these people think the purpose of human life is?

It is *not* "pursue joy, deal justly, love well, try to understand as much and see as much of this beautiful world and of the deepness, richness and variety of human culture and experience as you can before you die"?

How is this repeatedly made into a policy issue - by *all* parties - when the blunt fact of the matter is that grown adults who are obliged to pay for their own education, and relentlessly pursued to repay their loans, should be able to study whatever the fuck they want.
