So, no national guard on January 6th, but definitely on August 11th. Makes total sense.

must be incredibly frustrating and disheartening to have federal funding that was promised to you for important work suddenly and arbitrarily ripped away

Someone should tell Trump that Elon would feel very owned if he fully funded USAID and the CDC.

True. And also, what a whiny little bitch he is.
Reminder: the Taylor Swift and Bruce Springsteen posts are just to distract from the Qatari "gift" or the fact that he's trying to rip Medicare and Medicaid from millions of Americans right now.

I’m trying to decide if I should run for either Durbin’s Senate seat, or Pope. Thoughts?

Just getting to this @nytimes.com article about what a jawdropping bullshit factory, failure and fraud DOGE is.

Musk is an historic disgrace, and what they've done is an incredible national scandal. Gift link. READ IT.

DOGE Is Far Short of Its Goal, and Still Overstating Its Progress (Gift Article)
Elon Musk now says his group will produce only 15 percent of the savings it promised. But even that estimate is inflated with errors and guesswork.

Is it really too much to ask media outlets reporting on invading Greenland & Canada to lead with "THIS IS WILDLY ILLEGALLY UNDER BOTH OUR NATO AND UN TREATY COMMITMENTS, WHICH ARE ALSO PART OF US LAW"? The normalization of this is wildly inappropriate & there is no excuse for it.

This captures the vile, racist lawlessness and cruelty of the Trumpist regime so precisely.

Hard to come up with something that is further removed from the nobler aspirations in the country’s history - and more in line with the absolute worst version of what America has been.

This is really an excellent question. In the rest of the world, heads would be rolling over this kind of fuck up. But the party of personal accountability is nowhere to be found.
Why isn’t the media reporting this as “Even the President is complicit in leaking mission-critical national security information. Who controls this man?!”

Thank you @aoc.bsky.social for making this cogent argument. I believe that you are right and @schumer.senate.gov is being weak. We should not go along with this. Let's have the argument about who is responsible for a shutdown, especially when there's clear evidence that Elmo and FFOTUS want it.
AOC: It is almost unthinkable why Senate Democrats would vote to to hand the few pieces of leverage that we have away for free when we've been sent here to protect social security, protect medicaid, and protect medicare.

FYI, Trump/Bondi loyalists are currently making a bid to take over the DC Bar: Her brother is running for President and Alicia Long (who I believe is US Attorney Ed Martin's chief deputy right now) is running for Treasurer.

FFOTUS withholding military aid to Ukraine as specified in a duly passed law is just as illegal as it was when the House impeached him in 2019.

Three years ago, Russia invaded Ukraine without warning or provocation. Peace and freedom requires resistance to tyranny and oppression.
