This is exactly why we can't stop Trump. We play nice all the time.
American politics makes a lot more sense when you realize that the GOP is afraid of pissing off the GOP base, and the Dems are afraid of pissing off the GOP base, but neither party is afraid of pissing off the Dem base.
The evidence that conservatism is profoundly antisocial, is growing.
Here a woman posits that her clear anti-social behavior is merely weaponized caring by the left.
She is profoundly anti-social.
Thank god for not making you male nor conservative.

Have you ever wondered about the reasons for Maga's Ducklips aesthetics?

@ninaburleigh.bsky.social invited a DC plastic surgeon to explain without crediting her in the Video Description.

Regardless, a good laugh at the flood of poor taste in DC.

How to put a dying news organization out of its misery.
CBS News is 24/7 Erika Kirk for a week. This is like CNN with the Biden book. They are now interviewing Weiss about the interview, which she is describing as if it was a holy pilgrimage for her.

What is the poverty line in America?
The centrists are finally beginning to get it.

Mike Green is a decent man with heart. He held his nose and voted for Trump. Now he's writing about how wrong he was.
He argues that in 2025, the poverty line is around $140k p.a.
Mike Green is writing some amazing stuff at the moment. It's not in the delta, it's in the level and the cost structure. Read this and you will understand Angrynomics on a new level: www.yesigiveafig.com/p/part-1-my-...

Jeffries has found a sense of humor. There's a glimmer of hope that he's discover a spine and start fighting wielding a sharp sense of humor as a weapon.
Jeffries: "House Republicans, welcome back from your taxpayer-funded 7 week vacation. You now have an opportunity to actually take some action in an area of this healthcare crisis by working with Democrats before the rules committee this evening to extend the ACA tax credits."

Nobody is talking about changing affiliation from Democratic to Independent.
Hey, a lot of people are talking about changing affiliation from Democratic to Independent.

Let me tell you why you shouldn’t do that in Colorado.

One of the main ways to get a primary challenge candidate on a ballot is to caucus for your party. You need to be registered as a Dem to caucus.

A thousand time this 👇
The factional grifters will hate this, but the Mamdani-Spanberger-Sherrill axis actually suggests the outlines of a broad, emerging Dem coalition organized around both anti-Trump *and* affordability politics, not a party bitterly divided against itself.
These big wins will embolden Dems to take on Trump's lawbreaking and show there's a price for GOP enabling of him. Folks hate to hear this, but normal patterns are asserting themselves: Liberalism isn't dead, Rs are likely to lose in 2026, and Trump is really unpopular, not a magical exception.

The government would be open if he wasn't such a lazy king.
Mike Johnson: "The irony was that they called it the No Kings Rally, but if President Trump was a king, the government would be open. If President Trump was a king, he would've closed the nationals parks and the National Mall so they couldn't of had the rally out here."

one category of show prep material for TRMS staff is something we've always called "subway reading".

it's something that's not exactly current events or new reporting... but nevertheless relevant food for thought given the news we're in.

today's subway reading:

The '3.5% rule': How a small minority can change the world
Nonviolent protests are twice as likely to succeed as armed conflicts – and those engaging a threshold of 3.5% of the population have never failed to bring about change.

Can't we just get over the fact that the NYT is the mouthpiece of the oligarchs and has nothing to say about We the People?
Yesterday, the United States had its biggest protest in history.

But when I look at the New York Times website, I discover that it never happened.
