Me: *pulls it down, discovers it's old enough to drink*
*tries to sleep, instead obsessively researches replacements*
*puts down phone, imagines all the ways the house could burn down*

In case you haven’t heard: Legit food banks in your local area get the most food for your donated dollar. You can buy one can of beans or one bag of pasta with $1. They can buy double, triple, quadruple that for the same $1. So look into food banks, and consider setting up a monthly donation.

Did my intake to commence volunteering at a local food pantry this afternoon and let me tell you, after just half an hour of basic description of operations I now thoroughly get why they stress "please just give money, don't buy random food at retail and bring it in" over and over and over.

food banks need monetary donations (that means MONEY) from people who have the means to give. if you can, make the donation monthly. this helps out the food bank more than one large donation.
