by my count of the city's bag-and-tag data, the city removed and stored 22 manual or electric wheelchairs and approx. 21 walkers during encampment sweeps in 2024. it doesn't keep track of any mobility device that's simply thrown away www.sfchronicle.com/opinion/sole...
With so many physically disabled people living on S.F. streets, what happens to wheelchairs during sweeps?
Take a trip to downtown SF and it’s impossible not to notice the sheer number of seemingly homeless people navigating the streets via wheelchair or walker.

For the last three years, we have had tens of thousands of people subscribed to a monthly sock subscription that donates all profit to charity.
Every month, we order a little extra just in case. Over the years, that has resulted in...a warehouse problematically full of socks.

also I love that the comms team at Emory was so dumb they were like none of the people arrested were affiliated with the university as if the police don’t BOOK the people they arrest and we wouldn’t see an official record of names.
