So cool that whenever someone asks the president, “did you eat the Lindbergh baby” he’s like, “no but I’d be allowed to, I have the right to, I might do it later”

#Alberta Seperatist flirt, Trump groupie & notwithstanding clause fan #DanielleSmith dares to call #BritishColumbia's #DavidEby "un-Canadian" & is not instantly reduced to cinders by heavenly lightning, further proving there is neither God nor Justice.

One of the more incredible stories out of LA this year has been how a taco review blog became the best on-the-ground coverage of ICE raids in the city.

They do a dispatch every day, follow-up on the kidnapped people (which almost no media outlet has done), and fact-check government claims.

@lataco.bsky.social first began as a blog documenting local Mexican cuisine. Now, it’s an essential reporting powerhouse to the city as Trump’s mass deportation plot unfolds.

“When you get a suspicious book, “you look it up to see what else the [author] has written. And you see there's 30 things, and none of them have any reviews, and they were all written in the last two years,” DeMeester-Lane says.”
How Local Librarians Keep AI Slop Off the Shelves

I LOVE clever information presentation like this.

Been reading through Lord Have Mercy Upon Us by @caesar-ink.bsky.social and I’m still obsessed with the index/random encounter table/dust jacket.

Such a clever feature. I long for a bookmark version tho, just I find reading a book with the dust jacket on to be a bit awkward.

But some workplaces differ. Universities, for instance, have no business punishing faculty for lawful tweets, regardless of how 'controversial' they might.

Not just political parties. All workplaces have a social media policy. When I worked, and was known to work for a certain employer, I couldn't tweet anything I wanted. If I didn't like that, I could quit working for that employer.
