🪬🧿 There is no amount of money, oil, or gold in the world that is worth more than having bees, trees, and clean water.

Without flowers, bees cannot survive. Without bees, we too will disappear. Every flower is vital: flowers feed bees. Bees pollinate plants. Plants provide us with food, oxygen, and medicine. It's not just about saving the bees, but also our own existence.

Dropped it in a couple of group chats, so why not here (verbatim):

Question: If you could eliminate one song from existence (don't pussy out and pick an artist or genre), what song would it be?

It's the time of year when I see articles telling folks to put pet fur out for bird nesting. The Cornell ornithology lab does not recommend this! Flea/tick treatments & shampoos can be toxic, long fur can entangle chicks, etc. There are much better alternatives: www.allaboutbirds.org/news/providi...

A grim but essential memory: 80 years ago today Auschwitz was liberated. That there was an Auschwitz to liberate is unspeakably tragic. . .

physics of climate impacts 101:
- Stuff gets hot (worse heatwaves)
- Hot air holds more water vapor (heavier rainfall)
- Hot air is thirstier air (higher drought risk)
- Warm water is hurricane food (stronger storms)
- Hot water expands and hot ice melts (sea level rise)

A bit of good news - if the rule is finalized.
FDA announces long-awaited proposal to require front-of-pack food labels. Nutrition content like added sugar, sodium and saturated fat will be required to be placed prominently on the front of a package if the rule is finalized. They're calling it the Nutrition Info box.

This raises the question- why do the red states want to destroy the economies of the states that support them?
"California paid in a lot more [to the federal government] than it got back — $83 billion in total. So did Washington state and much of the Northeast. Most red states were in the reverse position, getting much more from DC than they paid in return."

This is what you get when people care about other people.

It’s also why our country needs allies.
"When Mexico sends its people, they're sending their best. They're sending firefighters to help solve American problems. They're bringing fire fighting uniforms. They're bringing fire fighting equipment. They're bringing kittens down from trees. And all, I assume, are good people."

So true… relationships and cooperation matter.
Our relationship with our neighbors and close allies matter. Trump seems intent on screwing them up before he even takes office. Here's the literal illustration of why we can't let that happen--when your house is on fire, sometimes you need your neighbor's help to put it out.
While Trump is trolling Canada about annexing it, Canadians are in Los Angeles tonight dropping water on the Palisades fire. He’s a disgrace.

Nature is our friend.
A single 400-year-old ancient oak produces 234,000 litres of oxygen a year while soaking up carbon dioxide, and can support more than 2,000 species of bird, insect, fungus, and lichen. Nature is amazing - we need more of it, not less. Please repost if you agree 🌳
