It’s unsurprising that the Georgia election interference case against Trump will be dismissed

But it’s infuriating nonetheless

We all heard him extorting Brad Raffensperger-trying to make him “find” 11,780 votes

And worse-now the DOJ is “investigating” Fani Willis-upon Trump’s demand

Appalling

Yep. As I suggest here, Trump tweeted out a pic of the plaque at West Point. But it holds it up as a civilizational triumph that the military answers to the Constitution and the law and not to one man. Trump's presidency flouts that ideal on a regular basis. He owned himself by tweeting that pic.
As @gregsargent.bsky.social points out, Trump *has* given illegal orders.

But he’s also so allergic to democratic ideals that the very idea of a military (or any other institution) that serves the people rather than the ruler is totally illegible and incomprehensible to him.

The CDC has turned off its vaccine search tool.

The vaccines.gov site now gives an error when you enter a valid zip code.

They also removed text saying “Vaccines can help you stay healthy” and added a banner saying the site is being updated.

It’s understandable when corrupt authoritarians who market themselves as “fighters against corruption” try to silence their critics. It’s less understandable when journalistic outlets like the BBC cave to such authoritarian tactics.
In case you missed this, the BBC edited a historian's speech about Trump to remove the claim that he's "the most openly corrupt president in US history." This came after Trump had threatened a $1 billion lawsuit.

Elite capitulation continues.

Read all about it here:

Trump Angrily Threatened to Sue BBC. Then Things Took a Darker Turn.
First, British Broadcasting Corporation execs resigned after Trump complained about a segment. Now the BBC edited out a line from a historian that was critical of Trump. Where does this end?

Reporting from Boston papers makes it seem very plausible that Trump's Press Secretary had his paramilitary detain the mother of her nephew, because she was no longer romantically involved with her brother and he wanted her out of the picture.
“After Ferreira was detained, Dos Santos Rodrigues said Michael Leavitt Sr. and his father, Bob Leavitt, reached out to her.”

“‘They just kept saying, ‘Tell her to self-deport,’” she recalled. “Self-deport to where? Brazil is not her home.’” www.bostonglobe.com/2025/11/26/m...

Bruna Ferreira, 33, was brought to the United States as a child in 1998. She is now in removal proceedings in Louisiana.

By the way, note that the description of Biden as being "in obvious mental decline" was left in the speech, while the description of Trump as the "most openly corrupt president in American history" was removed:
Note that the BBC openly admits in an email to me that the removal of this claim about Trump's world-historical corruption was done "on legal advice."

Translation: Trump's threat of a lawsuit, no matter how bogus, has now been rewarded.

2. Trump said no.
3. Then he said actually yes, I want them. I *need* them.
4. *His* party said no.
5. Trump said he never wanted them in the first place.

Mark Kelly—former Navy combat pilot, astronaut, sitting United States Senator—stated a simple legal fact on video: members of the US military can refuse illegal orders. Not as opinion. Not as political positioning. As established law codified in the Uniform Code of Military Justice and affirmed at Nuremberg when “I was following orders” was rejected as defense for war crimes. The Trump Administration opened a federal investigation into him for saying this.

When you draw a platoon leader like Hegseth, it’s your worst nightmare. You just ride it out until he’s gone and gets replaced by someone who isn’t a complete jackass. Only a fool like Trump would put one of them in charge of the entire defense department.

A mayoral candidate is repeatedly asked to condemn Hamas and denounce anti-Semitism simply because he's Muslim.

A sitting president who promotes white nationalism, employs gutter racists and dines with literal Nazis is given a free pass.
A mayoral candidate saying maybe the city should cover the cost of bus rides gets the full socialism panic treatment before he even tries it.

A sitting president taking billions of dollars worth of shares in private companies gets “I must say, a tad unusual” after it’s been going for nearly a year.

This is just embarrassing.

Because I think almost all historians would readily agree that Donald Trump is the most openly corrupt president in American history.
