Looking forward to the arrival of this Green Hop Bitter from @runawaybrewery.bsky.social and @trackbrewingco.bsky.social featuring Fuggles, Prima Donna and Hersbrucker hops grown and harvested in Manchester of all places!

A bumper harvest this year, by all accounts.

Festival season continues with a mini-run of three consecutive weekends later this month, starting with North Hop in Inverness on the 17th/18th, then it’s over to Edinburgh for the Big Swally on the 25th and back to Glasgow on the 1st Nov for Glasladies’ Beer Is For Everyone.

In February 2024 I visited French & Jupps, the UKs oldest existing maltster, and roasted malt specialist. I’d never heard of them before, despite them being in operation since 1689. It’s story fascinated me, so I wrote it for @pelliclemag.com here:

Well @runawaybrewery.bsky.social, this is truly exceptional! Light, slightly tart with great carbonation & a lovely gentle oak smoke, it’s hugely refreshing. Wonderfully sessionable at 2.9% ABV. Please make it a core beer; it’s a revelation!
