I often feel that the greedy destroyers in this world – those destroying nature &/or harming people – have not once in their lives felt at peace, or marveled at simple natural beauty, or felt humbled by it.

Yes, our collective power must stop their harm..., but it's also sad what they have become.

National Parks are a mirror of democracy — owned by the people, protected for all. Which is why, in an age of privatization and neglect, they’ve never been more imperiled.

Hear, hear, though it's concerning that most people calling for the end of fossil fuels still push the idea that we can keep everything else -- the same capitalism, growth economy, imperialism, inequality, production, consumption, & lifestyles.

That's not working out.
We need bigger changes, eg:
Can Socialism Solve the Climate Crisis?
Governments globally are failing to combat climate change because they prioritise profit over the planet — for real change, the capitalist mode of production must be overhauled.

When faced with the choice of changing our systems to save nature to save ourselves vs. business as usual govts (& most people) have chosen business as usual.

Because who needs a cold Arctic, right? /sarcasm

As a species, we are incredibly arrogant to think the harm we do to nature won't hurt us.

Folks. If you love your city and the people in it and feel helpless in the face of the fascist forces roaming your neighborhoods, read this piece and find some way to resist or to keep resisting or to support others who are. Be like Chicago. City of Broad Shoulders indeed.
