in thyroid storm, treating sinus tach w/ a beta-blocker will occasionally cause death

many patients have reduced LVEF & compensatory tachycardia (borderline cardiogenic shock)

beta-blockers push them over the edge

what data supports B-bl in thyroid storm?

could we please stop doing this? #EMIMCC

GLP-1 agonists are great for obesity & other chronic health conditions e.g CVD but they do not seem to have any effect on the progression of Alzheimer's disease in humans despite promising observations in mouse studies. this is why clinical trials matter.

A 24-year-old female patient with history of epilepsy, depression, and CKD presented to the ED for suicidal ideation and was incidentally found to have a creatinine of 6.24 mg/dL.

How can skin lesions guide the differential diagnosis for the CKD etiology in this patient?
