It feels weird laughing at ANYTHING Nazi related right now, BUT...

I've seen several variations of fake subtitles on this fictional Hitler scene but this.... THIS ONE... is a must see if you're a physicist.

I didn't even have to take that course and I am WHEEZING 🤣

This editorial from @washingtonpost.com is disappointing because it is sloppy and misleading---if not factually wrong. As a piece by the Editorial Board (the voice of the paper), it threatens Washington Post's credibility and integrity. 1/15

I'm for anything in scope between truth and reconciliation commissions and Nuremberg, but at present we've tried neither and that's gotta change.

Um, ICE just coldly shot an unarmed PRIEST in the head w a pepper ball when he (and everyone around him) clearly posed no threat.

For the crime of … complaining about government policy.

Gonna be thinking about this lede for a minute.
(RNS) — Last month, the Rev. David Black stood in front of a Chicago-area U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement facility and spread his arms wide. Adorned in all black and wearing a clerical collar, the pastor looked up at a group of masked, heavily armed ICE agents on the roof and began to pray.

“I invited them to repentance,” Black, a minister in the Presbyterian Church (USA), said in an interview. “I basically offered an altar call. I invited them to come and receive that salvation, and be part of the kingdom that is coming.”

But when Black began to lower his arms a few seconds later, the agents responded to his spiritual plea by firing pepper balls, or chemical agents that cause eye irritation and respiratory distress, video footage shows. One struck Black in the head, exploding into a puff of white pepper smoke and forcing him to his knees. Fellow demonstrators rushed to his aid, and as the pastor rubbed his face in pain, the agents continued to fire.

“We could hear them laughing,” Black said.

Since i was a kid, I've loved Rod Serling's work as a creator. Once i began to learn about his strong commitment to civil rights work, I also deeply admired him just as a person. The man did not flinch from this.

Photo of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.: a Black man with close-cut hair & a tidy mustache wears a suit & sits at a table with his hands loosely clasped near his face; he is looking off to his right with a thoughtful expression on his face, the whole image evoking both prayer and contemplation of the future.

If Richard Scarry has taught me anything, it is that you are 100% correct.
A Richard Scarry illustration of a pig butcher in a boater hat (would a porkpie have been too on the nose (snout?)? ). He is cutting slices of sausage, and is standing next to a display case of various meats, some of which look suspiciously like ham.

Let me be clear: backpay for these workers is required under a federal law I wrote with former Senator Cardin — which Trump signed — during the last Trump shutdown.

This is just more fear mongering from a president who wants a blank check for lawlessness. It won't work.

Dunno man, seems a little misleading to write an article about Trump describing activity in Portland and Chicago as “insurrection” with a 33 year old photo of a burning donut shop taken in the 1992 LA Riots (sans caption explaining that) as the header on all your posts about it.
The picture from
The article with a picture of an armed men standing in front of a burning donut shop. You must click through to read the caption “

I see pieces like this a lot, often w/ a spin of lamenting cultural degeneration, but reading is a LABOR issue, it’s declined because so many people are working overtime or two jobs & employers expect after hours work. France has Earth’s highest reading rate b/c long lunch breaks & labor protections
