Currently trying to make life happen as an artist first, having left a corporate gig in September. Stayed with friends this week in NYC and hearing the Slack noise is truly Pavlovian.

My hot water bottle is really getting a workout these past couple days and I’m loving it.

Tonight we finished Porgy & Bess at Houston Grand Opera. I’ve just arrived home from the kick back. It’s 4:30am and I’m having trouble going to bed because that will mean this stunning day is over. I am so deliriously happy and proud.

Currently roasting a chicken while there’s a downpour outside … one thing I didn’t count on taking a contract in Houston was how much I would miss autumn. But it’s here for about 48 hours and I’m going to make the most of it!

When I solve a Times Sunday crossword without clues I feel invincible, no matter how long it takes. It’s so fun. (The theme this weekend helped me get through it.)

70 years ago, on this date, Emmett Till was kidnapped and brutally murdered by white men.

His family, including his cousin who was with him at the time, is repeating the train ride he took from Chicago to Mississippi in 1955 to mark the anniversary

This is so embarrassing. Some of us like a thesaurus and, again, USE THESE WORDS.
This is "em-dash tell" all over again. SOME OF US USE THESE WORDS.

Reskeet if you never stopped calling it HBO Max
Max will reportedly become HBO Max tomorrow.

"The transition from Max to HBO Max will be automatic and will happen throughout the day for people globally."

Thanks for the reminder @janemunday.bsky.social. Every summer, I repost this article DROWNING DOES NOT LOOK LIKE DROWNING. To date, I know of FOUR kids who were saved after someone who'd clicked on the link learnt how to spot actual drowning. Take time to read and pass on.

I’m singing at the memorial service for a friend’s father (who was also a familiar face in my life from third grade onward) on Saturday and I just went through the music for the first time. It’s gonna be a rough one! I love this man so much. So unwise to do this shortly before bed!
