They should have never stopped doing publicity stills like this. I want to see a publicity still for LONGLEGS with Nicolas Cage menacing Maika Monroe, with this exact vibe
Mary Meade in a publicity still for T-MEN (1947)

She was BOTD in 1923

This is still my advice: Become a writer anyway. Fuck it, do it, it won't save you, but it's still a beautiful dream to write novels and short stories and poems and mingle with other dreamers and make art and laugh in the face of death. And writing is constant death. Live más.

Reminder that while bookshop.org is amazing and you should be directing your online book sales there, I'll echo others and say that for small publishers, one of the most impactful things you can do is buy directly from our website, putting money in our bank account today for operations.

Ngl it's sad people reduce the horror genre to being cheap or lacking in potential, there's a huge catalogue of myths and cyptids and even existential horror you can dive into, and some of my favorite games and movies ever made are horror. Not everything is cheap jumpscares and crappy gorefests.

Me: by the end of the night, we might know what Jake Paul looks like without an ear

Roomie *dead serious*: why? Is mike tyson gonna bite it off? Lol.

Me: are you joking?

Roomie: has he done that?sorry. I don't keep up with wrestling.

Yeah yeah yeah, horror is great, it helps us face our fears, get through dark times, and all that jazz.

But also, monsters and ghosts and such are just rad, and I like them.
