Writing with chronic pain is so frustrating. Like, my brain is bouncing with ideas but my body hurts too much to actually do anything with them. Bah.

Can't stress this enough: a random story you write on a lark may end up being the one that gets you the most recognition while the one you really love may get few reads and/or your worst reviews. Don't overthink it. Publishing is a gamble. You'll win some; you'll lose some.

Hello Blue Sky: I post about politics a lot, but it is instrumental to understanding my tweets that I write romance novels.

I write romance novels because I understand that hope is not a passive thing: it is an active practice that must be cultivated over time.

Perhaps Miss Marple who, while often annoying, solves mysteries basically by hating people.
a dialogue I would like to start on this platform is Favorite Fictional Detectives

I grew up in a Poirot household but fell deeply in love with Albert Campion at a formative young age and I am also forever proselytizing to anyone who will listen about the Richard Jury books by Martha Grimes

Honestly, I’ll take the money.
If anyone said the phrase "emotional salary" to me, I would simply start throwing things at them

Does anyone know of conventions that hold virtual panels? I'm tired of complaining about it and I'm going to go start pitching book conventions that give a shit about disabled people.

Mary Burchell remains one of the most successful romance writers, ever. Over 110 Mills and Boon books to her name.

Less well known is that much of her early writing was done for one purpose:

Funding her efforts to get Jews out of Nazi Germany, with her sister.

Mary is a Righteous Gentile. /1 🧵

Hi #romancelandia: Talking with a senior ed today and we're looking for more diverse voices for our Harlequin Feature program: specifically dark romance, romantasy, mafia/crime romance. We're hoping to find some BIPOC authors writing in the space; if that's you, let me know and I'll get you my info!
