Seen this morning, great advice. Unless you have food or help on offer just leave them alone.
They are doing the best they can.
A sign I seen this morning saying
See a tent?
Just fucking leave it… Cheers
Living without washing or toilet facilities is no joke.
Unless you can help, just mind your business

This message from Palestinian journalist, Wael Al-Dahdouh, must echo across the world.

Wael continued to report from occupied Gaza after his wife and children were killed by Israeli forces.

Guess what?
The story about the trans M&S employee and the bra fitting is a pack of lies and distortions.

Surely the point of a large institution is that some people working there understand finances and others understand other things, like physics and literature and how to maintain 10000 computers and how to stop students getting suicidally depressed. The problem is *not* that everyone can't do it all.

I got a flu booster today and it made me reflect on the sense of national accomplishment I felt when I drove to a public facility, waited in my car until my number was called on an app, and got my first covid jab. It's fucked the right gets to erase what a moment of technological liberation that was

The government has a choice: protect cultural rights and First Peoples’ data sovereignty — or cave to tech giants hungry for free labour and profit.

To the government we say: our culture is not yours to give away.

We must have a say in how it’s used.

First Peoples must be respected as rights-holders, not treated as data sources.

Any use of our culture must be based on consent, control and compensation.

Without that, AI becomes just another tool of colonial exploitation.

The Productivity Commission has suggested changes copyright law to let tech giants freely use creative work to train AI.

This would allow exploitation of First Peoples’ intellectual and cultural property.

Our culture is not “content” for governments to hand to tech companies.

Today is International Day of the World’s Indigenous Peoples. This year’s theme focuses on AI.

And right now, the government is considering letting AI companies use copyrighted Australian work — including First Peoples’ stories, art and language — without our consent.

The former Attorney General of Israel, Michael Benyair is now calling Israel's actions in Gaza genocide.

"To eternal shame. Jews, who suffered a genocide 80 years ago, are committing genocide in Gaza. Shame, rage, and sorrow"

That 15% reciprocal looks pretty good for a lot of states within the EU. I guess they can’t crow about it for obvious reasons but I think places like Ireland that have exports at three times the rate of imports w/ the US, they must have some sense of relief.

“Gender critical” by ensuring gender presentation and gender roles are policed. Slow hand clap to all involved
elierlick.bsky.social
This is the end result of anti-trans bigotry: more harassment of girls and women, more policing of gender roles, more gender McCarthyism.

Young trans people’s deaths are being IGNORED by @rthonwesstreeting.bsky.social while he removes lifesaving healthcare from trans youth, based on ideologically driven transphobia and/or desire for power! 😖

And not just "the individual" as the FOI refers to them, but a son, a loved one. How many others are missing? Tragic, avoidable deaths, that are seemingly being denied, dismissed, literally erased from the data, in order to pursue a gender critical mindset in the heart of our government and the NHS.

Happy Non-binary People’s Daaaaaay!
Stuff:
- there are older people who are non-binary.
- there are Indigenous people who are non-binary (but we’re not your ‘proof of concept’).
- the binary is a key element of the colonial project of gender.
-we’re an integral part of our community.

Meanwhile, what do families do? Maybe they emigrate (as I suggested a year ago) given Labour's revealed policy is 'cleanse Britain of the stain of transness.' But the families hit hardest, those without money to insulate them, don't have that choice. And for them life is almost literally unliveable.

Absolutely true Bron, but for many of us you’re that person.
