Remember the GOP controls the trifecta and for the umpteenth time cannot control their far right flank or WH interference. On its face, it’s embarrassing when the party controlling everything can’t pass timely legislation because their leadership is so weak.

the conservatives have been getting the same revenge for robert bork for the last 40 years. we were mean to bork and miguel estrada and then somehow also to the republican presidential candidates like romney and mccain but their opposition to democratic nominees or candidates is just common sense.
Might not be a better illustration of the conservative legal movement’s foundational lie than “Emil Bove is our revenge for Robert Bork”
should've let us put nixon's hatchet man on the supreme court, sincerely, the Good Conservative Tom Nichols of MSNBC

The adamant elite refusal to call bullshit is a big part of How We Got Here.

The prevailing cultural attitude for years is you must not, under any circumstances, treat anything as bad faith. You are obligated to find some reasonable idea and engage with that, even if you distort to get there.

In 2016, Ghislaine Maxwell falsely stated, under oath, that she was not aware that Jeffrey Epstein recruited underage girls for sex (you know, the ones she was actually recruiting on his behalf). She was charged with two counts of perjury for this.

Remind me why we give a shit what she says now?
