TRILOBITE BEETLES!!! 😍🌿
Some of the coolest bugs in Asia’s rainforests are these female Lycid Beetles, that look like they’re from prehistoric ages!😱🦕

They retain their larval form as adults and feed on decaying matter in the leaf litter of the forest! 🍂
I get goosebumps every time I see them! 😁

Here’s an idea for the PM: try to understand that the vast majority of Australians don’t like ANY extreme violence against civilians - whether at Bondi or in Gaza - and have the right to say so.

New baseline studies to be conducted in southern Tasmanian waterways. Absolutely astounding that baseline studies were not part of salmon pen establishment permits & that philanthropy not the industry or state government is paying for them. Look like standard environmental management practices awol🤷🏻‍♀️

Brilliant! After 1.5 hours of stamping around in the Brisbane sauna today, deciding there were no owls, trying to take a short cut back to the car ... that looks like a great nest hollow ... that tree looks nice for roosting ... that looks like scat! ... (looks up) f**k me there's a Powerful Owlet!

All we want for #Christmas is #wetlands alive with returning birds & woodlands still connected enough for #wildlife to move safely.
But as #bushland disappears, the climate shifts and invasive species spread, < 650 Tasmanian species are now threatened with #extinction.

Day 20 #BatMas: Ussuri tube-nosed bat (Murina ussuriensis)🦇🌎🧪

In the spring & autumn, bats roost in piles of dead leaves. However, in the winter, bats will hibernate in the snow which the bats dig into by themself. These holes will provide a stable temperature for the bats

The adult males have a saccular organ on their throat which may release pheromones. Adult females have the same organ but its vestigial. The females are polyestrous meaning they reproduce multiple times a year

Having been born on this day in 1957, I am somewhat susceptible to tv adverts we see at this time of year, ones that use the festivities of the 1970s as a means of evoking nostalgia for Christmases gone by. I think this one may have gone a bit too far however.

If anyone can point me at similar antigenic maps, I am keen to try cloning this project. Ideally the data would be already in coordinate (X,Y) form, so I can integrate it smoothly.

Cannot emphasise enough how intensely fascist / violent it is to criminalise the act of being publicly opposed to civilian murder on false pretences

It is not hyperbole at all to present these government actions as something that will cause serious harm in a bunch of different ways
