Watching Twitter’s functionality for disaster communication crumble before our eyes is real unfortunate.
Twitter is still definitely the go to. There isn't enough in bluesky for one.

Honestly, I don't know if this app is gonna be safe for Black, Brown, Indigenous, Asian and other PoCs or (LGBTQIA folks, disabled folks, etc), but let's stack the usership with those who are willing

My expectation is that meta will take little/no effort to control actors engaged in stochastic terrorism against trans women, and the insta connection makes it even more likely to explode IRL.

Something to keep in mind re: Threads: There are a bunch of anti-trans accounts that Meta will not take down, that are using the fact that Threads accounts are linked to Instagram accounts to dig up photos of trans people to mock

I don't feel that Bluesky will be the next Twitter but that's fine, I don't necessarily need a next Twitter, I just want a place I can talk to my friends and others without having random drive-by bigots appear and call me a groomer for going out to eat ramen or something.
