The reason you are so personally offended by criticism of Sarah McBride is that you are the same—trans women desperate for affirmation from power with no solid ideals that you wouldn’t sacrifice if it benefitted you. If you could get the fascists to love you, you would leap into their waiting arms.

Sarah McBride is an excellent example of how identitarian representation in public space cannot be the only metric of value - if given the choice between McBride and a cis white man with reliably good politics I'd pick the latter because her positionality only helps if she uses understanding to act.
