@democracynow.org had @adelitaforcongress.bsky.social and me on together to explain that she is not being sworn in because she is the 218th signatory for the release of the Epstein files. Swear her in today.

Safe in my Collegesville hotel, getting ready for tonight's book event. As always, my mask matches my dress! (And I can probably be convinced to trade stickers for Diet Dr Pepper.)

Mascot rave actually seems like an incredibly effective tactic. There's absolutely no way to spin that the dancing unicorn was threatening.

Streets are still closed off in front of the Portland ICE facility at 8:30pm. Protesters have gathered on a side street. Dance party in progress.

Covid is not over.

People are still dying and becoming disabled every day.

We rushed “back to normal” for the economy, not because the threat had passed.

When you wear a mask, you’re not only protecting your health, you’re saying you don’t believe anyone is expendable.

Oh lordy. I heard these stories from various people involved. If you want to work in TV, or just are curious about how thoroughly things can go wrong, definitely check this out.

How could a straight-to-series greenlight go so wrong for the first TV series I ever created?! Today, the 5AM StoryTalk Podcast brings you Part 1 of a four-part Hollywood horror story I describe as a cautionary tale for screenwriters about what can happen when all your dreams come true.

Stephen froze like a deer in the headlights and pretended to have connection issues because he unintentionally gave away the game plan.

“Plenary authority is complete, absolute power over a specific area or issue, with no significant limitations."

Show people this clip. This is an insane slip up.

Not Stephen Miller accidentally outting the regime in an interview. Let that "plenary authority" claim slip right out and then had to act like the audio cut out.

Sir! We heard you.. and the President does NOT have plenary authority.

Have you read INTO THE DROWNING DEEP or OVERGROWTH, both by Mira Grant?

Basically, my own books are making me think about mortality and it annoys me.

This means I rarely have to deal with things like "character X is central to the narrative and is injured/traumatized/pregnant/nursing a newborn." But it does mean I blink and the baby who was A BABY last time I looked is eight years old and very much in school.

The Toby books do not move on a pre-set timeline. They meander, and gradually get farther and farther behind the present day. The InCryptid books, on the other hand, run on a one-to-one timeline.

all discourse aside, there is one machine with consciousness. it's printers. they are alive and conscious and they hate you and they'd take your arm clean off if you let them. never trust a printer.
