The Drezner and Saunders analysis of Year 1 of Trump 2 is close to perfect: "The anarchy that is emerging under Trump, in other words, is more chaotic. It is closer to the more primitive anarchy of the political philosopher Thomas Hobbes—a world of “all against all,” where sovereign power

While obviously Trump backing down is a good thing, there will be two frustrating immediate consequences: 1) he will be praised for doing so despite having caused so much unrest and disruption and 2) the lesson he will learn is treat allies shabbily and you get what you want

On 16 January 1979 the Shah fled Iran for good. Now the question is how long will the regime that replaced him last. In this post I compare the situation 1979 revolution to the one currently underway. (£/free trial), open.substack.com/pub/samf/p/r...?

So weird. Why can MPs be on all platforms. They should all use YouTube as well. Most of the world still on X as well. Stupid leaving it as i think people need to know what you have been working on.

MPs should be in all social platforms. Dont have to engage with it but put work they do. Each should have a youtube channel but hardly any of them do.
Minister of State Alex Norris tells the BBC he won't personally come off X because it's important for communicating with voters.

None of his tweets for the last month has more than 1000 views.

UKIP leader is a far right thug.
Ukip have submitted a new logo and slogan to the Electoral Commission, swapping the £ pound sterling symbol for a cross, that looks very much like it is modelled on the Iron Cross used by Prussia & Germany 1871-1918 and Hitler's Nazi regime from 1933-45

Man is a lunatic.
Millions of people voted for Trump because they thought "He's a business guy, he can do great with the economy." So one year in, how is his economic record?

Bad. Very bad. And he can't fool anyone into thinking otherwise.

I break it down at Public Notice:

One year in, Trump's economy is a mess
He may have won on a promise to fix everything, but he's only made it worse.
