Exciting news! We’re very pleased to announce the recipients of this year’s Workplace #Cancer #Research Grants. Every year, an estimated 10,000 workers in Canada are diagnosed with work-related cancers – so this research is vital to keeping all of Canada’s workers healthy:

The US government has cut off funding for PubChem. This is a critical resource for health and safety practitioners and researchers alike. Defunding this database puts workers and workplaces at risk of harm.

Florida's decision to end school vaccine mandates is a blaring 5 star alarm. School vaccinations date back a century. This will cause great harm everywhere as unvaccinated kids travel in the US & globally.

We'll see a frightening return of diseases that have long been eliminated

I work in industrial ceramics manufacturing. My plant also produces cast iron and glass.

Without well-managed air filtration and access to NIOSH approved respirators and dust masks, workers like me will be at increased risk of lung conditions like silicosis & mesothelioma, and other organ damage.
🚨 Trump’s HHS just gutted NIOSH—laying off 85% of staff and shuttering key science programs.
🧪 Cancer research for firefighters? Halted.
😷 Respirator safety testing? Ceased.
📉 Decades of public health and worker safety science in jeopardy.

The entirety of the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health was wiped out last night in a form letter sent by RFK Jr.

NIOSH investigates workplace hazards and works to find solutions. Gone are programs focused on miner safety and firefighter health:

Let me translate these numbers.

Trump supporters support Trump, and for most, nothing could get them to tell a pollster otherwise.

But some of them think the Congressional GOP isn't supporting him enough.

Meanwhile, Trump critics oppose Trump and think Dems are doing a poor job of opposing him.
Leader @schumer.senate.gov ranks dead last in public confidence on the economy—20 points behind Trump. Yet he still thinks he can stop a budget that hands tax cuts to billionaires and guts Medicaid.

People are terrified for their future. We need leadership that’ll actually fight back.

Today, Senator Van Hollen - through diplomatic pressure - got a meeting with Abrego Garcia in El Salvador. So that thing you’re thinking about doing? DO IT.

Donald Trump is deporting legal US residents to a foreign gulag, and he has stated publicly that he is moving on to citizens next. This is a Constitutional crisis. Will a single Republican stand up for our Constitution?

I had been doubtful that we were going to have a "this is the crisis moment" with Trump, as opposed to "everything about this is a destructive catastrophe."

But the Abrego Garcia case is the crisis moment.
