Alternative take: Gremlins 2, 35 years ago, demonstrated that it’s possible to bring some wit and verve to an existing idea and the many young people to whom these films mean nothing might get to enjoy some of that feeling for themselves.

What I don’t quite get about all these posters (which are everywhere and for everything) is that they all look the same. Surely the point of the tech is it can produce literally every style.

We live in an age of profoundly asymmetric accountability. One side can shrug off any sense of responsibility (Trump was impeached for his part in the insurrection but still ended up President again). The other is battered for any small misdemeanor and expected to grovel and, ideally, quit.

Not having this. I’m 6ft 2.

"And so one day, 1,000 people show up in your village of 500 and start raping the kids"

This felt appropriate this evening. As a lad thirty years ago I was glad to know who the enemy was and why we all need to stand up to them.

The thing on the train is absolutely horrendous. One saving grace is we don’t have guns in this country. I mean look at this from the US.
It wouldn’t surprise me if some right wingers over there chime in on what a lawless hellhole the UK is, encouraged by our own dimwits.

The sheer greasy desperation from these bastards that any violent crime is committed by an immigrant so they can continue their grift. Even when they know it isn't true. Foul.
Matt Goodwin attributes a crime that he now knows appears to have been committed by people born in Britain in the early 1990s to "mass uncontrolled immigration"

I’m not totally sure Nandy’s point here is about where people were born. I’ve heard her get close to saying it’s bad that people from small towns leave for London to make their way (presumably bad if they end up in LA too). Which I think is bollocks as well by the way.
Hi Lisa Nandy! I’m a BAFTA winner from a small town. Instead of asinine questions like this, why not tell us how we can continue to make a living in the eviscerated creative sector over which you notionally preside?

I’ve taken yanks to English football grounds and the thing they are always blown away by is that you walk down a residential street and it’s just there.
day 2:
dodger stadium's 16,000-spot parking lot is so huge, it could fit ~10 more dodger stadiums in its place. a monument to socal's asphalt addiction more than to baseball.
meanwhile in toronto, an actual walkable, bustling city exists around the stadium

Tory MP and "rising star" Katie Lam supports the mass deportation of families who came to the UK legally — a policy so unprecedented it has been compared with Idi Amin's expulsion of Asians.
But did you know Lam has drawn sartorial, as well as policy, inspiration from the brutal Ugandan dictator?

Tory policy is to revoke permanent residence (ILR) for everybody who does not earn £38k - deporting most nurses who have ILR
This is put in the video as "who is unlikely to contribute more than they cost"
NB: video does not say EU settled status is exempt
No govt since Idi Amin has done this
