I joined the team from The Daily this week to have a conversation on just how the Trump family is playing in the crypto world, taking actions that create explicit conflicts of interest unlike anything in modern US history. Here's the episode: The Crypto President www.nytimes.com/2025/05/01/p...

Elon and DOGE are taking a blowtorch to Social Security

They shut down local offices
They shut down phone services
They shut down website services
And now they’re proposing another round of mass layoffs

Remember when top Trump officials used an unsecured app, Signal, to share confidential military plans & then lied about it and they continue to expose our national security to potential foreign countries and enemies by using unsecure communications and most of them still have their jobs? Fun times.

This is absolutely horrifying. People can't afford to file Habeas petitions. And how is anyone going to enforce that this actually happens? And what about the people there that did NOT get due process?
#BREAKING: 5-4 Court, with Barrett joining the three Dem. appointees in dissent *vacates* Chief Judge Boasberg’s temporary restraining orders in the Alien Enemy Act cases. Judicial review must be available, Court holds, but has to come through habeas petitions:

Unacceptable
So the administration ADMITS it mistakenly arrested and sent a father to El Salvador, but then can’t right the wrong because, well, he’s in El Salvador?

Is this right?

True
We’re going to annex Canada and invade Greenland but we can’t request return of an innocent man from El Salvador.

Historians sarcastically call German citizens who claimed during and after World War II not to have supported the Nazi regime, but remained silent and did not resist it in a meaningful way while it was in power, "Good Germans."

Will history sarcastically remember you as a "Good American"?
