We're witnessing the most aggressive, fanatical crackdown on free speech in my lifetime. The speed and breadth of government censorship and private sector and nonprofit capitulation has been astonishing. As has the lack of urgency/silence from people who've long claimed to care about this stuff.

Telling my MAGA mom, fired from trucking, she can't apply for disability w/$50k in stock. No, the ACA won't cover all your medications. Yes, I know it's hard when unemployment is running out. Yes, I agree you shouldn't have to make choices that reduce your quality of life.

As we watch walls erected around the internet and barriers get taller I will always remember that if it wasn't for the internet I wouldn't have ever made it to 36.

There is no "both sides" in fascism because the problem is not that we disagree. The problem with fascism is that the system isn't allowed to work in a way that anyone can disagree. And if you frame it as "very fine people on both sides" you are a POS.

I just read yet another post of Liberals blaming leftists for our current position (first they came for the socialists). And the amount of intelligent responses calling that out was 🤌 The world doesn't change if no ones pushes it to.
