If Trump is really stealing spending power from Congress then it would be insanity for Democrats to vote to fund the government later this month. Shut it down until the president stops wiping his ass with the Constitution.

My suggestion: Don't hold your breath.

At some point, I would love to see an interviewer ask someone from the Trump administration which specific portion of Article II they are relying on.
Pam Bondi: "This was well within the president's Article 2 powers. It was a law enforcement function to arrest indicted individuals in Venezuela."

Whatever one thinks of the attack on Venezuela, you have to admire the skill and strategic precision of the military forces that stormed Madura's fortress and so effectively removed the Epstein Files from the headlines.

Putin has been indicted by the International Court. So by this logic the USA should be behind an attempt to forcibly bring Putin to justice?
What JD Vance really means by this is that Maduro is bound by US laws but Trump is not.

like 75% of dem messaging right now should be “the party led by epsteins best friend is breaking into pre-k childcare centers so they can record your toddlers and put the videos on internet”
uhhh yeah I can see why these childcare properties weren't eager to let in some rando dudes asking "where are the kids?"

Having public officials swear an oath o a religious text is a dumb vestige of a different era. That said, if you’re going to to do it, demanding that Mamdani swear on a Bible is like demanding that I swear on a stack of back issues of City Journal.

It is kind of wild that no big media outlet has busted open the story of who is making DHS' posts on X. Whoever that may be is certainly plugged into hardcore white supremacist internet propaganda with a harder edge. "Groyper" would be underselling it. This is Daily Stormer-tier sludge.

I don't know Kelly's rationale for this vote – and I, for one, am confident he was one that's heartfelt even if I disagree with it – but we need what many have termed "imperfect allies" if we're to successfully combat Trump et al, i.e., not let a requirement for the perfect be the enemy of the good
Just noting that Mark Kelly voted in favor of Scott Bessent as Treasury Secretary.

@cnn.com
, any stats on who's actively threatening these Congressional members most? Somehow I don't think the majority are threats from the left (not saying they don't happen, but, uh, stats?)

Hey, @homelandgov.bsky.social , get your facts straight. We do not share a savior. Or a Savior.
As a Jew, it’s fun watching the administration post Christian nationalist messages while also saying they are doing everything they can to curb antisemitism.
Here’s the U.S. government being officially religious in a country with no official religion.

This is so stupid that it's insulting. If Russia wants peace all they have to do is stop fighting and withdraw. Ukraine did not and doesn't want to invade Russia. #givemeabreak
It's becoming ever so hard to distinguish Trump's envoys from Putin's envoys.
War is peace. Russia is fully committed to peace in Ukraine.

So the question is, what is Representative Khanna (who I otherwise hold in high regard) going to do about this other than post "strongly worded" videos/interviews?
Khanna: You’ve got the DOJ releasing the names of survivors—which they are not allowed to do by law—but not releasing the FBI interview files with those same survivors. Those FBI interviews contain the names of other men: Wall Street tycoons and politicians…

As I understand it – I've not parsed the redactions myself – it's got to be hard if not impossible to know whether Trump's there or not w/the redactions. What am I missing, Joe?
Scarborough: "Trump is not on Epstein's list. There's nothing in there really damning about Trump or Bill Clinton. So one of the great mysteries is not what Trump's hiding, it's why if he's not in the files - which all the reporting says he's not - why is he so obsessed on blocking access to them?"

Perhaps the vice president should have considered utilizing the services of the vast law-enforcement apparatus at his disposal, rather than googling conspiracy theories on the Internet.
JD Vance: "I remember watching every video of the assassination looking for clues, trying to understand what happened. I tried to hide my friend and that terrible bullet hitting him, but I would try to look around. I stayed up all night for many nights in a row researching every conspiracy theory."

Look, I'm not one to quickly believe in conspiracy theories about us attacking Venezuela on a made up provocation to distract from the Epstein files, but the timing of all this is not helping me convince myself that it's not true.
Trump: "Venezuela is completely surrounded by the largest Armada ever assembled ... It will only get bigger, and the shock to them will be like nothing they have ever seen before — Until such time as they return to the USA all of the Oil, Land, and other Assets that they previously stole from us."
