The way the press is treating chatbots, like they have agency and they “know” things all of a sudden, crossed the line recently from dumb and obsequious to something else entirely. Treating them as alive and making conscious decisions is an almost religious belief. It won’t age well.

Mahmoud Khalil, the Palestinian rights activist, freed from Ice detention on Friday, returned to Columbia University on Sunday to renew his commitment to the cause of Palestinian freedom and opposition to both the university and the Trump administration.

The thing vexing me at the moment is the thought that when you know who enacts his mass deportation plans, construction crews across the nation will be dramatically undermanned, making the already Herculean task of rebuilding LA even more costly and straight up next to impossible. A true disaster.

I’m sad to see TikTok going. Of all the platforms I have been able to speak about trans news, I think it was my most effective for reaching young people and families.
And I’m under no illusion that this is part of one of the reasons Republicans want to see it gone.
