"Do you know how long it takes a working man to save $5000? Just remember this, Mr. Potter, that this rabble you're talking about-they do most of the working, paying, living & dying in this community. Well is it too much to have them work, pay, live & die in a couple of decent rooms & a bath?"

One significant way to fix the federal deficit? Dramatically raise the minimum wage across our country. It will cause an increase in tax collections, much less people on federal assistance, and health outcomes will improve causing less reliance on federal health programs.

Best case: The President of the United States knew about a pedophilia ring and did nothing to stop it.

Medium case: He also used his office to protect the perpetrators.

Worst case: Because he was one of the perpetrators.

Today is a good day to remember, and to say, that the #MeToo movement was right, and was righteous, and has been vindicated over and over again. There was no overreach. There was no excess. There was no they-went-too-far.

So much work remains to be done.

this is all because actually-existing conservatism is utterly discredited and exhausted so that the only options for young conservatives are to assimilate into liberalism ie stop being conservative ie stop being wrong, or rejuvenate through fascism ie embrace being wrong and pursue brute domination
I think it's important to confront the fact that, for the most part, to be male, under 28, and "conservative" is to be an actual Nazi. There are exceptions, but that's what they are. Exceptions.
I wrote a piece a few weeks ago claiming antisemitism was on the verge of going mainstream. It was clear to me that most people had trouble buying it.

That's understandable. But it's happening.

Example: Conservatives themselves are now saying that 30 to 40% of Zoomers in Washington are Groypers.

Yeah, but remember when that bird landed on Bernie's podium? Iconic.
Conservatism is fundamentally a fan culture. It has lore and is invested in long-term character development and canonical debates within their ideological universe in ways that aren't quite the same among liberals or the left.
I'm generalizing, but why do conservatives remember political irritations for so much longer than liberals?

It's been 17 years since Obama said some voters "cling to their guns, to their religion" and I heard a senator denounce that last month.

Obvious theory: Media ecosystem puts it on repeat

The KKK was founded in 1865. The united states has had 157 years to register it as a terrorist organization an has not . Instead it's a tax exempt religious organization . I'm not all that interested in white people's definition of terrorism .

Happy Labor Day. Just a li’l reminder: so many people died horrible deaths so we could have things as seemingly inevitable as the weekend or overtime. The owners would claw it all back in an instant.

I'm especially proud of this new original song, written for the world of DarkCember!

When you stumble into the Bonfire Village, and you see the faces of your loved ones for the first time, all you can do is sing this love song....

Also #happypride ! I SEE YOU!

I have a great joke about Medea, but it's not kid-friendly.
I have a great joke about Tantalus, but you’re just too thirsty for it.
Oh, you won't believe the joke I have about Cassandra.

When I voted for Steve-O for President, it was because of his support for lowering inflation. I had no idea he would be stapling his nutsack to the Oval Office floor every day, and getting NFL field goal kickers to boot his nutsack across the room, and other frankly childish nutsack related follies.

It was a Christmas Miracle! Dad and I were living in a junked-out old Motel, sleeping in the same bed with our feet in each others faces. It must have been Santa Clause! I was popular for the first time. Until an older kid hit his head jumping in our tiny, low-roofed shack, and went color blind.

I honestly feel some days, too many indulge in their resistance fantasies. Full of oppression boners, truly thinking that this is your moment to stand up to a dictator. Those who fled here from such oppression can tell you that your way of thinking will be your folly.

Day One! I'm trying to be more active, since this is a blank slate. Ironically, I'm looking to this new site for inspiration to do my own writing. I'm currently reading "Mary" by @natcassidy.bsky.social , and it's invigorating! (Also, I childishly love that the first chapter is dated 4/20/69).
