Please know that when JD Vance says "Americans" here, he means "women."

"To our fellow Americans, we say you’re never going to find great meaning in a cubicle or in front of a computer screen. But you will find great meaning if you dedicate yourself to the creation and sustenance of human life."

This is the most astonishing graph of what the Trump regime has done to US science. They have destroyed the federal science workforce across the board. The negative impacts on Americans will be felt for generations, and the US might never be the same again.

So the oldest person ever to become president keeps falling asleep in his office during public events and there’s no big public discussion on how this is a coverup or how republicans are lying to us about how this government is running?

100% agree w this.

Have lived in Calif (20+ yrs), Texas (4+ yrs), Wash state (2+ yrs), DC (long time) MA and MS and GA and outside US (long time). Not NYC.

No one outside NYC spends ten seconds caring who the city elects as its mayor.

But you can recognize political talent, which ZM surely has.
I would like for national political reporters to place a moratorium on “But what will voters in the rest of America think about New York City’s socialist mayor?” We don’t care! Red states are notably full of psycho politicians yet rarely do you see pundits asking Brooklyn people about them.

He would lose his shit.

The most upsetting part of this story to me is the line where the Times says it is “unclear” where the money came from.

Under our constitution,
it is either extremely clear where money comes from - a congressional appropriation - or an illegal channel. So so, @nytimes.com

Transcribing Pentagon press releases ≠ journalism
We told @time.com that journalists shouldn’t trade their independence for access to Pentagon spin.

“Agreeing not to look where the government doesn’t want you to look and, by extension, not to print what it doesn’t want you to print, is propaganda, not journalism.”
Pentagon Accused of ‘Intimidation’ With New Restrictions For Journalists
The Pentagon released new rules for journalists that prevents them from reporting on unauthorized information.

I am just going to keep posting that the TX governor recently pardoned a political murderer.

The dude texted "I'm going to shoot protestors", then went and shot a Black Lives Matter protester. He was convicted in a jury trial.

Hard to find a more blatant example of celebrating political violence.
Gov. Greg Abbott pardons Daniel Perry, veteran who killed police brutality protester in 2020
A Travis County jury sentenced Perry to 25 years in prison last year, prompting Abbott to ask the state parole board to review his case.

Jackson last year had a murder rate about three times higher than DC's. If it's not the deadliest U.S. city, it's close. And its police staffing per-capita is less than half of DC's.
