“Although implicit bias theory appears to be drilling down to a deeper conceptual level, it presents a superficial understanding of racism/ misrecognizes the nature of racism & thus underestimates the scale of breach to be crossed through anti-racist agitation/ & inept in dealing w racist violence”

I'm really tired of this "messaging" conversation. Why is it that 92% of Black women immediately understood what was at stake but others didn't? Is it really "messaging" or is it an unwillingness to be allied with certain minorities? Y'all gotta start asking the uncomfortable questions.
I’m not arguing that Black women aren’t super important to the Dem coalition. I’m saying that if we want to actually win an election, the Dems need to win more white voters. And that comes from messaging. Trump always runs circles around us even tho his policies are worse for everyone but the rich

All nonsense. Men need socialism and a nap.

Earlier this year, ProPublica found that the sepsis rate in second-trimester pregnancy loss hospitalizations increased by more than 50% under Texas’ abortion ban.

Here’s how we did our analysis.

Texas Won’t Study How Its Abortion Ban Impacts Women, So We Did
Since Texas banned abortion, no one has studied the statewide effects on pregnant women experiencing complications. Here’s how we sifted through data on millions of pregnancy hospitalizations and…

After you do it enough times, just asking stops being just asking and becomes an attack in its own right, becomes a threat, that at minimum the harassment won't stop until you give in. And "just asking" is like the minimum, baseline, backstop level of bad shit that men get up to

Like they're like "oh well it SHOULD be okay to emotionally blackmail someone into having sex" but if someone asked you "do you want to fuck?" and you were like "uh, no thanks" and the same person just stared at you glassy-eyed and repeated themself 15 seconds later it'd piss you right off

Men are trying to litigate shit like "what level of coercion makes it rape" but they're perfectly capable of being pissed off by buttons that read "not this time" and understanding why
I've never seen someone tell on himself so loudly. We get it man you're not safe around women.
The definition of it has changed dramatically

MeToo completely rewrote the word, of what it even means

Only ten years ago it was use of physical force only, maybe chemical restraints like a special sleep drug

Booze?

Badgering?

Emotional blackmail?

Retroactive revocation of consent?

i'm the one who has been telling young men "YOU'RE BAD" and "don't be a boy." sorry about that, i'll stop
It's a brutal time for young men, and to be raising one. The primary message they now is get is "YOU'RE BAD" without any meaningful attempt to offer healthy pathways beyond "Don't be a boy."

Absolutely perfect time for right wing monsters to sweep in with shitty answers.

Men are not constantly being told “you’re bad,” they are constantly being told “LEFT WING SJWS THINK YOU’RE BAD” by conservative propaganda. There’s a huge difference.
I have two sons, and I don't think I've ever seen messaging going "Don't be a boy" or "YOU'RE BAD."

Sure looks like that's in "I heard someone say that they heard..." territory, rather than actual direct experience.

Also worth noting, the main message from manosphere influencers is "YOU'RE BAD."

"It's a brutal time for young men"

so why aren't girls jumping to naziism en masse?

the only ppl it's truly brutal for are those at the receiving end of young men's bigotry

what do you think primary messaging is for young girls when THESE are their peers?

"It's a brutal time for young men"

It's brutal for EVERYONE (women are *literally* watching their bodily rights be stripped) but only one group is trying to kick others down in order to feel tall

Women/girls aren't punching bags for insecure young men who REJECT growth/betterment. This is lazy

The message isn't "you're bad." It's "respect people." The problem is you believe being a boy is having a license to say/do anything to people without repercussions. Somehow there are men all over the world who are not experiencing a "brutal" time because they don't find respect to be difficult.

Because it reveals to me that the popular notion of misogyny, gender, and patriarchy makes most cis women believe that if exploitative sexualized violence happens to a feminized subject, if said feminized subject has a "male body", it's not really misogyny and doesn't register as gendered imbalance.

Thinking about the claim that an M/M story (the kind written by and for women) is somehow a "safe space" to "explore romance without misogyny", when these stories still have a large burly manful many man romancing a tiny, weak, slender, effeminate totally-not-a-girl-thing. Usually violently.

When your "anti toxicity" formula depends on anti-racism ==ing "toxicity," then your formula is, itself, racist. Rinse & repeat for any other technoscientific application + power-related bigotry.

Just as a heads up for any technologists somehow still pretending to be confused about how this works.
Absolutely not.

Every time someone tries this, I point out how it biases against Black speech. Every. Time. 🤷🏿‍♂️

Also from the launch of the Perspective API and its "toxicity" score.

Police don't kill too many Black kids."
Score: Not toxic.🤦🏿‍♂️

"Police kill too many Black kids.
Score: 80.28% toxic.😮

People that haven't studied abuse online, and aren't in community with Black women that receive the most abuse online, trying to make systems to reduce toxicity online?

Makes as much sense as RFK Jr being head of Health and Human Services.🤡

There are real doctors that have studied both topics.
