Okay, so at the request of the lovely @trance.bsky.social , I'm going to tell a story about what happens when a shitty person is "just joking", and then discovers there are consequences.

Day 23 - Edward immediately regretted saying that he thought Ethel’s dress was quite an eye watering shade as they took a pre-Christmas stroll. All four of his sisters moved together as one and fixed him with a set of steely glares as they marched past him. 1/2

We've had MMP for 30 fucking years and media/research groups can't help but treat everything as "National-led coalition" vs "Labour-led coalition", and this is honestly one of the biggest failings of our democratic process.

Better things are not possible. Back and forward red blue red blue red..... NZ is on path to continue the decline of material conditions for working class people in the interests of capital. Absolutely paying no attention to the consequences of this elsewhere. Very stupid little country.

"Speaking from his Crown limo, as it glides over the hills...."
Meanwhile, his govt is reducing support for Total Mobility users.
I thought this was satire. It’s not and it’s beyond the pale. It’s like the worst kind of advertising for a product known to cause harm to consumers that sellers are still pushing. #nzpol

Luxon angry on behalf of NZers that his Govt has stripped of support, rights, healthcare, housing & jobs???
It’s been a challenging year for Christopher Luxon, full of tough trade-offs and a cost-of-living crunch that hounds household budgets. He talks to Newsroom about leadership, getting the fundamentals right, and the challenges of fiscal management.

Who the hell does Luxon think is cleaning public hospitals, public toilets, swimming pools over the holidays? Who is driving the buses, manning hospital wards, working in supermarkets. NZ is kept fed, clean, alive, safe and moving by essential workers many who aren’t paid a Living Wage. #nzpol
Found some rather more professional words to express my sweary thoughts on millionaire men utterly ignoring all the unpaid work many women and carers do over the holiday period.

We can't get off this path by tinkering around the edges; we need a radical revisioning of how our government and society function.

One thing that NZers need to understand is that going for 100% completion on the original Rogernomics agenda is not a reversible thing. We will need to transform all this wreckage into something new. We can't just "rebuild", as has been proven many times over.

How is this democratic?

One of the few good things about living in New Zealand is that you can look at the Labour Party and if you are like “wow I’m way more progressive than/left of them”, then you simply don’t have to give your party vote to them and move on with your life guilt free and vote for Greens 🤷🏽‍♀️
