as @annenotation.bsky.social likes to say, a lot of people just want to Know Their Place in the hierarchy, even if it's near the bottom. it's psychologically comforting to them.
There doesn't seem to be a shortage of guys who want to submit to a "dominant alpha male" who will give them identity and purpose. It's all so cult-like that its hard for me to rule out sex in this dynamic

...... okay... everyone... um understand the red flag that is a man needing! to publicly spell out that he's got good (no GREAT!) sperm and that infertility is ALL the woman's fault?
now, that man isn't just some guy at your work, he'd like to be a US Senator.... nope.
Things I did not need to know from a political campaign: ""Graham has great sperm," Gertner said in the video. “The infertility was something that was part of my body.”"

I think if the Danes sent back Vance as a clump of dissociated body parts in a garbage bag that Trump would actually respect it and back off a little bit, I don't think most people would really mind either

JD Vance is in Copenhagen right now, where local newspapers have published detailed psychological profiles ranking his personality as authoritarian and noting his strong proclivity to the firehose of lies technique.
Rich cultural text that Will Stancil is in the streets of Minneapolis fighting ICE while the ten thousand losers who want him to dead are petrified of No Kings events because they might see a mom with a cell phone.
Just a perfect distillation of every discourse.

DONALD TRUMP HAS SIGNED A DECREE TO IMPLEMENT A 25 PERCENT TARIFF ON ALL COUNTRIES THAT ENGAGE IN TRADE WITH IRAN, AND THIS COMES INTO FORCE RIGHT AWAY. 🔥🌍

OK, it's highly restricted due to sanctions, but we trade with Iran so... the mystical hypothesized recursive tariff a go go
JD Vance on Renee Good: "I think she's a victim of left-wing ideology. What young mother shows up and decides they're gonna throw their car in front of ICE officers who are enforcing law? You've got to be a little brainwashed."

the more I learn about JD Vance, the more surprised I am there was someone who thought he was worth giving up their valuable percs for
Decolonial studies departments should have no problem offering, concise, clear rebuttals to the most obvious examples of open colonial thought witnessed in recent years, but they're probably too busy getting mad at a deli for selling bahn mi.
The problem with the Democrats isn't that they got two left-wing, it's that they got too online. Most of the online stuff doesn't actually make any sense from a left-wing perspective, it's just kind of incoherent mess bullshit.

Red Scare's trajectory from brocialism to outright explicit Trumpism is a really good reminder that a willingness to hate on the right people is not a substitute for having positions of merit.

The primary lesson of the Biden years was that US voters see themselves as consumers first and workers second. Four decades of complaints about stagnant wages, then they grew, and it just made everyone pissed off.
