the number below doesnt work, as Stripe has changed their number, and is demanding a $2.99 fee to even tell you what it is.

however, this number DOES still work and will let you leave a message:

(877) 887-7815
I actually received a callback from Stripe within a few hours! I got a direct call from a single Stripe employee who was very kind, but the non-personal number he gave me to file complaints or to ask further questions for US consumers is:

+1 (888) 926-2289

Be polite but make your voice heard!
Do you wanna contact Stripe? They don't have a phone number from what i have dug around for (please put it in the comments if you find it), but here is their complaint form.

If you're an accountant or something for a small business like me, remind them why you won't use or are moving away from them

I just called and they wanted to know my card number. DO NOT GIVE THEM IT. They don't need it for complaints- They're going to check if you had made any purchases and tell you your card is working fine or "It should be working correctly now". Again it's an attempt to quail any anger,

I know we're upset about itch, but they're not the only ones

Payment processors harassed companies bc of a 1,000 email hate campaign

But we can EASILY top 1,000!

I prewrote an email + got the contact info - you just have to send!

Remember when I was talking about the fact that once fascist secret police are disappearing people they will not stop only expand their actions?

This is a clear example of that. The executive order is the construction of a system to remove those seen as a drag on society to camps.

The censorship of 80+ games on Steam this week was apparently the work of Australian antiporn group Collective Shout, which partnered with US evangelicals to pressure Visa and Mastercard.

They claimed, without evidence, that the games involved child abuse.

Great work by @acvalens.net for VICE.

The organization behind Steam's latest payment processor censorship, Collective Shout, appears to tell some misleading tales.

Like, this is the kind of stuff that people would insist Nintendo would do

To all the artists creating in these times: thank you. It’s not easy to make beauty, truth, or meaning when the world feels chaotic. Whether it helps you breathe or comforts others, your work matters.

Art doesn’t need to fix the world to be meaningful, sometimes it just needs to exist.

A programmer's hubris is to comment that code is temporary: you will be cursed to find you are more temporary than it.
A programmer would slap together a mock version of what was asked for, and damned if 3 years later that shitty mock version hasn't become the actual production code, now all kludged up with shit it was never meant to have in it.

Placeholder code turned permanent.
