Quick, check your eagle vision. There may be a red path on the ground that randomly leads to a fountain.

Print this and frame it on the wall with the title, "Why North American Transit Construction Costs are So High"

I just can't get over the differences in scale between Ballard Link's Westlake Station as proposed and the original Westlake Station, off to the left.
Ballard Link's Westlake has two separate entrances underneath separate buildings, with one showing a long tunnel to get to the train guideway. They are at least five stories deeper than the original Westlake, which is tiny and only around 10-15% of the size

So if the Tigers win Friday and move to the ALCS Windsor, Ontario is gonna have one hell of a dilemma about who to root for.

This is the absolute dream challenger to Jeffries. Please, please, please let this happen.

This is exactly what we need. This is it.

"New York City Council member Chi Ossé, a close ally of Zohran Mamdani, is privately discussing a run against House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.)"
Scoop: Mamdani ally weighs challenging Hakeem Jeffries
Just talking about a potential campaign could drive a further wedge between Mamdani — the democratic socialist in line to be New York's next mayor — and Rep. Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.)

Also built like a 12 year old playing SimCity. The only reason anyone would design a city to have all its built up areas be hypertall skyscrapers inorganically plopped next to each other all along the service roads of an oversized highway is to look good and shiny in photos and nothing else.

I do actually still download music. Am an audiophile with sensitive hearing so FLAC downloads/CD rips will automatically sound better to me than what most streaming sites send out audio quality-wise.

46 states already require daylighting to keep intersections safe.

New York State does, too — but New York City exempts itself. It’s time to close that loophole.

@cmjuliewon.bsky.social's Intro 1138 would allow pedestrians and drivers to clearly see each other at intersections.

But can you use this as a baseball bat and can you do a funny batting stance with it?

absolutely breathtaking levels of “reframe punching up as punching down” are emerging in AI discourse. fighting back against AI is us against billion dollar tech companies, yet they are pulling out so many wild rhetorical tricks to make it seem like the anti-AI movement are the powerful bullies here

“don’t be bigoted towards AI.”

your AI data centers are poisoning Black communities as we speak, please get some fucking perspective. jesus christ

They’ve roughed up and arrested people for trying to get in ICE’s way. That’s more than complicity. The state of IL is not resisting, it is culpable.

@govpritzker.illinois.gov owns every arrest and act of violence against protesters this morning. He is aiding and abetting Operation Midway Blitz by allowing state cops to do this. He tells us to film ICE. His cops have shoved me around for filming this morning.

Saying this also as a Yankees fan who's more than happy to call out their ticketing policies for how shitty they are. Compared to numerous other things they've done on that front this is a non-issue.
sorathecyclist.bsky.social
Read this and this really isn't a controversy. This is just restricting ticket sales to people in states the NYC-metro area sprawls out into. That sort of ticket restriction has been the norm for North American playoff series for years.

Any news from Rep. Josh Gottheimer on Trump potentially ruining the commutes of millions of hardworking New Jersey residents? Or did he just reserve his ire for congestion pricing?

The initial Times write up does not mention that the feds are now alleging that the MTA's compliance with federal regulations is unconstitutional, a laughable assertion on its face, the feds attempted to re-write the rule last night, and that this grant pause is illegal. All of these are facts.

Donald Trump is trying to steal billions from New York. With this illegal move, Trump wants to make train trips worse for millions of hard-working commuters. The president can't unilaterally steal $18 billion in tunnel funding. This money is owed to New York. It's owed to you.

A reminder that if just one of the tunnels the Gateway Project is meant to relieve rots enough to close it would be catastrophic to the US economy immediately. Trump admin is apparently okay risking that happening as part of their drive to be the most insufferably racist incels imaginable.

Most red states are being run by madmen and becoming hellholes for normies who care about basic government services, the right to an abortion & LGBT rights

it’s time for blue states to lock in, build housing, build transit, and build state capacity so we can thrive from red state refugee migration
regimecpa.bsky.social
There used to be a sort of social contract that the PMC classes had with red states that has been completely ripped apart and I honestly don't know how that's going to feed into housing market growth and corporate relocations.
