Hey so, i would encourage my fellow performers to not do any shows at the Kennedy Center until it reverts to it’s original name
Thank you for your attention to this matter

(yes I’ve already performed there so it’s an easier decision for me)

Interesting to consider that if you were to go and deface the Kennedy center by removing Trump’s name, you’d be arrested and charged with a crime, but your act would be no more unlawful than what they’re doing right now.

I've been waiting to find out exactly how Trump was going to personally profit from the AI greed frenzy he has unleashed because there was no way he was *not* going to get a piece.

Now we know: a $6-billion merger of his failing media corp with an AI energy corp

And if/when the border is open, Palestinians have to pay thousands and thousands of dollars to Egyptian war profiteers to be allowed to cross.

This is precisely how fascism works, by grabbing at and taking away a little more freedom whenever events lend themselves to it. Bit by bit you lose your rights, until you turn around and realize the road you're on has been long, and democracy is well behind you over the horizon.

Someone reminded me recently that during the height of COVID, this miserable eugenicist idly mused that letting COVID kill 2-3 percent of the population might be fine if it meant allowed for reopening schools. He called it an "appetizing opportunity."

I think Asha Rangappa is right — they are lining up the external and internal enemies. Or trying to. This is very risky and will almost certainly blow up in their faces.
I keep saying this but no one is connecting the dots. The war is to satisfy legal preconditions for mass removal *domestically* of Latinos (i.e., suddenly a lot of people are going to be “Venezuelan” for purposes of removal). This is 100% Stephen Miller…oil claim is to make grandpa go along
There is no national security logic that would impel the US to want to do regime change in Venezuela. It's simply not that important. I'm not even sure wag the dog is the right metaphor for what's happening here. Seems like an insane misallocation of US national security assets and attention.

ICE has its own Health Services Corps, which it operates in 17 large detention centers, but an increasingly large majority of people are held in private detention centers where the healthcare is operated by contractor or subcontractor, where ICE basically just manages the insurance claims.

The White House says the Kennedy Center board vote was “unanimous”…

BULLSHIT.

@repbeatty.bsky.social, a Congressional member of the board, was on the call. They muted her and didn't let her voice opposition.

This is beyond absurd, totally illegal, and a disgrace to the memory and legacy of JFK.

one of the funnier aspects to the AI backlash is the fact that they're negatively polarizing much of the tech enthusiast demographic against them by making hobbyist PC building functionally unaffordable
Just so I'm clear on this, computer memory has tripled in price because a bunch of it that hasn't been produced yet has been ordered to populate GPUs that aren't installed in data centers that aren't built yet in order to service a demand that doesn't exist to make profits that don't happen.

People: The general public does not have any right to know about a family death *before* the family.

The number of people complaining about the police not announcing right away that Rob and Michele Reiner were found dead is astounding. There are in fact processes they have to follow.
